Vick...

Postby blackngoldB » Mon Aug 10, 2009 10:27 am

People have been telling me that we were interested in him. This has gotta be a joke. His athletic abilities are unreal and would give someone many possibilities on offense, but he's a troublemaker. Please tell me that this was just a crazy rumor!

YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IT. THE ROONEY'S HISTORICALLY HAVE AN UNWRITTEN RULE THAT ANY PLAYER WITH LEGAL TROUBLE IS NOT TO BE SCOUTED AS A PLAYER FOR THE STILLERS. THE FACT THAT MICHELLE CONVICKT IS A FELLON WITH THE CHARGES THAT SHE FACED, IT'S A SAFE BET THAT SHE WOULD NEVER BE WELCOMED AS A PLAYER ON THE STILLERS... CORN ROWS AND ALL. THE BITCH GIVES ME BAD VIBES.

Doubt it would ever happen, but wouldn't it be nice this year to watch Vick return kickoffs (which many have speculated he could do if he returns) rather than Gary Russell running directly into his own wedge guys at the 25 yd line?

I don't know why but for some reason I actually believe that Vick has made a change for the better and I have a feeling that whatever team he returns with he will not cause any troubles for them. The only problem is going to be all the harassment that organization will take from outside interest groups (PETA, etc.)

And just for the record, I don't think the Steelers should sign Vick

Who would be stupid enough to take snaps out of Ben's hands and give them to Vick?

People say the same thing about the Pats with Brady, but I think the point is that you aren't taking the ball away from him for a snap. Instead of handing the ball off to your running back (FWP) or maybe instead of a reverse to a WR (Holmes), you'd give it to Vick with an option to throw. I don't think the "taking snaps out of our QB's hands" is a good argument b/c you're not taking the ball away from your QB.

Shocked to hear this come from a Steelers coaches mouth
Scott Brown, of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, reports Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin said Tuesday, Aug. 11, that the team is doing their "due diligence" on all free agents, including former free-agent QB Michael Vick (Falcons). Tomlin didn't rule out the Steelers having interest in Vick. "If people are capable of helping us win, we're going to have a level of interest in those guys," Tomlin said. "I'm never going to discuss free agents individually. I don't think that's appropriate. I think that that conversation could be endless. We do our due diligence on guys that have a professional skill level and of course (Vick) is one of them."

Tomlin must not realize he is in Pittsburgh
Does the Steelers Front Office even know what a Free Agent is?
