Harrison Int Return

Postby gburg_steeler » Wed Feb 04, 2009 4:35 pm

Just curious if anyone else noticed something on the Harrison TD. If this has been discussed, I apologize. The commentators and analysts kept mentioning that it would either be a touchdown or the end of the half. I know that some have already pointed out that there was a penalty on the offense (now the defense) and the half couldn't end on that penalty. But I also noticed that when Harrison hit the ground and was 'down', whether in the end zone or not, there was still at least 1 second on the clock. I would think, upon review, that if he's downed a the 1 inch line, the clock should be stopped with change of possession and we get to either go for it or kick the FG.

Obviously, this means nothing, because it was clearly a TD, but I was just wondering if any of you noticed this also.

yes. if the officials didn't put that one second back on the clock, we still would have received another play (one untimed down), due to the arizona penalty.
