Senior Bowl Steelers
Since the Steelers' coaches didn't have time to attend the Senior Bowl last week McLovin has a few prospects he likes for them after watching endless coverage on NFL network. If we all can agree the Steelers need to take lineman early and often in this draft a few on both sides of the ball stood out for McLovin. Center a deep position this year and McLovin watched four alternate during the game on Saturday (watched yesterday via DVR). Alex Mack of Cal, Eric Woods of Lousville, Max Unger of Oregon, and Antoine Caldwell all looked like potential steeler selections with Alex Mack being tabbed Steelers 1st round pick this week by Kiper. McLovin no Kiper fan but he would be happy with the selection of Mack. Another guy Mayock liked during practice but was inconsistent during the game was LT Mike Oher of ol'miss. Steelers would need to trade up few spots but he would be last of 4 elite OTs that include Jason Smith, Andre Smith, and Eugene Monroe none of whom were at Senior Bowl. Another prospect that McLovin is intrigued with is Phil Loadholt of Oklahoma...dude is huge 6'8+ and over 350 and is just all muscle. He played LT at Oklahoma but was said to have dominated at RT during practices senior bowl week. Herman Johnson a LG at LSU is another huge dude that played RT during the game but looked very slow. on defense a couple of DTs who looked really good were Peria Jerry of Ol Miss and BJ Raji of BC. Jerry is a player McLovin likes having seen him blow up against florida. During that game Gary Danielson said he was best DT in the country and he showed it against Tex Tech in their bowl game. He would be great EVENTUAL replacement for Hampton.
McLovin's realistic offseason plan is to sign RT Jon Stincomb from the Saints thus kicking Colon to the curb. DE Chris Canty from Dallas SHOULD be signed to relegate Keisel to a 3rd down pass rusher. Canty was taken one spot after Colbert drafted the legendary Fred Gibson in 2005. Colbert can now redeem that error and give the DL an infusion of youth and quality depth. In the draft take Alex Mack and let him and Hartwig battle for center with the loser playing a guard spot. The rest of the draft to be detemined after combine etc.

Thanks Bro...lot of Free agents along the OL along with lack of talent. DL has some aging vets and can use an infusion of young talent
