Do we have the Offensive tools?
Some forget that our attacking defense, while dominating the AFC North, has not faced an Offense like this since Brady in his prime. Nothing this year comes close: Romo?, Casell? McNabb?
Stop, "Claahns"; I know-the Cards are not NE and Warner is not Brady-but he does release the ball quickly and they can score points.
We will be scored upon.
Given our O-Line and Arians, if pressed, can we win a potential track meet?

Re: Do we have the Offensive tools?
people forget that in the beginning of the year, we were expected to have a very good offense...
here is some interesting stats...
during the regular season, when they had serious health problems at RB and miller and ben had health problems, and injuries to OL starters, with almost a new line altogether since last year, we were 22nd in ypg and 20th in ppg...
however, we had 11 games against the top 12 defenses in ypg, and 8 games against the top 8 in ppg...
we had a very tough defensive schedule and were still towards the middle in ppg and not too far off in ypg...
now with a better OL, healthy willie and ben, if hines ward was healthy, it might fair to say we are really in the 10-15 bracket...
so yeah, we can score against a defense that was 28th in ppg and 19th in ypg...in addition they had a very weak offensive schedule, so those numbers are better than they should be...
if ward is 90% or better, we will run and catch against this team.

Re: Do we have the Offensive tools?
if sweed caught the td and holmes is not reversed, the offense puts 24 points in the first half against the number 2 ranked defense in the afccg. They hung 28 on the chargers the previous week, to me it looks likes if the game dictates scoring , the steelers can go score for score especially in the no huddle offense against a suspect cardinals defense that got shredded by the eagles .
the steelers offense is very capable of lighting up the scoreboard through the air as long as they can handle the rush somewhat. remember the areial assault in the 2nd half of the jags game last yr trailing 28-10.
the steelers offensive numbers and point total this season is a bit misleading do to the fact they tried to force the run all season and let thier defense win games. If the steelers defense was the same as last yr the steelers would have put up alot more points through the air this.

The Chargers offense was much better this season than the Arizona Cardinals. MUCH better. They actually had running backs who could do something.
Re: Do we have the Offensive tools?
we won't have a problem scoring against arizona. remember that's the same defense that allowed the most points in the postseason, and 5th worst at points allowed during the season. they got picked apart by mcnabb who is average at best, with no-namers on their offense other than westbrook.
they're only there being lucky that carolina shit the bed. we will score on arizona and have success running the ball

We have the tools on O. Problem is, we have a fuking idiot for the foreman, and his name is Bruce Arians.

Re: Do we have the Offensive tools?
One thing that has to change in the SB is what we do if we get a lead.
Typically is the Steelers get a 10+ pt lead it is run the hell out of the ball. Which results in 3 and outs and give the other team a chance. This is a good strategy with our defense. However, with AZ we have to run the clock but can not get too conservative since they are a team that can score from anywhere on the field.
That being said. Our offense has been 1/2 step away from huge point totals in both playoff games. We have to convert in the SB. I think Bens maturity over the past three years shines in this game and the conbination of run and pass will be tougher to defend than most casual fans realize.

Re: Do we have the Offensive tools?
i think we don't sit on a lead with this team. gameplan will be a lot like vs san diego because they are a team that's capable of scoring in a hurry.
the reason why the gameplan wasn't as aggressive vs the ravens is because they're the ravens. They're not a team that was any threat to score against our defense unless we made mistakes, so the offensive gameplan was conservative. the ravens also have a big play defense that can make you pay for making those mistakes, and a rookie qb that has always been accident prone against our D, so i think the correct game plan was used.
against san diego, we knew going into the game they were a team on a hot streak, and also the highest scoring offense in the NFL, so the lead wasn't safe. I don't know if it was necessary to have leftwich throw a bomb in garbage time, but the fact of the matter in that game they didn't let up when they had the lead because they were well aware of what SD's offense was capable of. I think a similar aggressive game plan will be used against the cards
