CHITRADERROB SUPERBOWL TAILGATE
The NFL has truly become the no fun league. All NFL controlled parking areas, which pretty much encompasses the entire area surrounding Raymond James Stadium, are no tailgating zones. The interesting thing is that just east of the stadium is a residential area where home and land owners can sell parking to whomever they please, and tailgating is allowed. I have made contact with one of these owners who is selling parking for the Super Bowl. It also happens to be the same lot that The Steelers flagship station, WDVE, is going to be set up in. I have been in contact with DVE to get details of what they are going to have, but according to Brian (the owner of the lot), they will have projection screens set up for those not attending the game. Also, this lot will be open all weekend. If you have an RV, you can set up. If you want to camp out in tents, that's cool too. All in all, Brian seemed like a cool guy and is very flexible. If I give him a hard count of the number of spots we want, he will cordon off an area just for us. The cost of game day parking is $75 (cheaper than it was in Detroit). Not sure how much it is on any other days, but I can find out. What I want to do is find out the people who are interested in this event and try to put together an email distribution list so we can communicate with each other. The success of the tailgate in Detroit was the result of a bunch of people coming together to assemble an awesome party. I know we can do it again. If you have any questions, here is my cell #...312-961-2250...LETS DO THIS!!!
Here is a photo of the location.

Welcome to the world of 'corporate partners.'
The NFL is scared to death that you might supply your own beverages and that they might not be from Inbev/Anheuser-Busch. They are worried that you might consume food that isn't from their official suppliers. Most of all they are worried that you don't want to spend $8 on a draft beer and $7 for a single soggy hot dog.

Rob,
I can't make the trip, but my brother Eddie & his wife (who was with us in Denver & Detroit) are going.. I will pass the info along to them. I was *this close* to driving down there & just tailgating - I can take the time off work & everything -, but I promised Eddie I would watch his son while they go (they got tickets again), and there is no one else to watch him instead.

Here is the update on the radio party. I spoke to the guy that is organizing it. This party will be co-hosted with a yet to be named Pittsburgh radio station. The party will start at 2:30 PM. Tickets are $100. This is all you can eat, all you can drink (Beer only...hard alcohol available for purchase). Alcohol will be cut off at the end of the 3rd quarter. They will have 2 projection screens showing the game. The details as far as who the radio station is and how to purchase tickets will be finalized over the weekend. I will let you know how to purchase tickets when the details become available. If you are not going to the game, I think this is a great option. Park in the lot and pre-radio party tailgate with us, and then move to the radio party in time for the game. It's a win/win!

I know somebody right now that has 4 in 219 Club...Looking for 1800/ticket, but I know that will have to come down based on current market trends...I would hold off on buying tickets. It wouldn't surprise me if you could score face, if not cheaper than face leading up to the game. I have seen pairs in upper deck go off for 2K today. It is definitely a sweet buyers market this year.

Re: CHITRADERROB SUPERBOWL TAILGATE
thanks for the info, i was thinking the same...Prices should go down each day closer to game, nobody wants to be stuck with tickets in hand and no buyers..Did you get tickets for yourself?

Re: CHITRADERROB SUPERBOWL TAILGATE
Brokers tickets are well below 2k a seat now. I've seen them on ticket.org for less than $1500. If they hit 1k, I'm going to bite.
