roughing the punter call late 2nd quarter
That was one of the worst calls I've ever seen. I was glad we didn't score any more points in the 1st half after that. I would have declined the penalty
Re: roughing the punter call late 2nd quarter
yeah it was a BS call, but so was the first PI call that set up balt's first 7 points. not to mention calling santonio's TD reception an incompletion, when he had 2 feet down and possession of the ball before hitting the ground. I'll take it considering the ravens got a bunch of BS calls in their favor

Having two feet down and possession, isn't enough for a pass to be a completion. Don't get my wrong, it was a completion, just not for those reasons. Remember the whole "football move" thing when defining a reception? Well, if you watch the replay, Holmes caught the ball, got both feet on the ground, gathered himself, then LUNGED for the goal line.
The fact that he was able to gather himself, then voluntarily make that lunge is what it made it a completion. Had he simply caught it, and been forcibly brought to the ground, losing possession of the ball as he hit, it would be a legitimate incompletion.
What makes it hard for me to take is that they actually overturned the call. Had they called it incomplete to begin with, then withheld that ruling, I still would have thought it was a bad call, but been much more forgiving of it. But no, they actually overturned the [almost] correct call (it should have been a TD too).

yep, thats what i meant with possession (the football move in this case, the lunge). sorry for not clarifying it, but i was convinced that it was a catch and TD. He had 2 feet down with control of the ball, squared his shoulders and lunged forward (football move). possession all the way, holmes got robbed on that call.
i'm glad that ref for our game is retiring after this game, because he's horrible

Re: roughing the punter call late 2nd quarter
The PI call to set up their first TD was COMPLETE bs. Harrison was held all game long and they were only called for ONE holding call.
The Ravens are all smoke and mirrors. Flacco is NOT the world beater the media made him out to be, he was cloaked behind a good defense and a running game ALL YEAR long. The Ravens should not even be here.
I said it before, Joe Flacco is WAY overrated. Not because he is a rookie, I mean for good, he is another in a long line of Raven misses at the QB spot.
The Ravens have a decent team, nothing more. Decent NOT good.
They defended a LAST place schedule this year. They were overrated from the start.

Re: roughing the punter call late 2nd quarter
I will take the roughing the punter call. It makes up for all the missed roughing the passer calls. All the missed holding calls against Harrison. And that completely BS PI call on Baltimore's first TD. Baltimore has alot to worry about if they plan on taking on this team again next year. We gave them everything they scored (well, we and the the refs did). Berger needs to be kicked in the nuts by everyone on the team, then see if he shanks another one. Lets get ready for two weeks of how Whiz was passed on for Tomlin.

WAS IT POSSIBLY A MAKE UP CALL FOR THE REGULAR SEASON HOLMES TD? I doubt it. But, conspiracy theorists can wonder.

The roughing the kicker call was no doubt a make up call for that first PI call that gave the Ravens their first touchdown.

it's hard to deny that. especially since they gave us 15 yards instead of just 5.
