Steeler Naye-Sayers...this one is in the bag.

Postby JumboHeadYouks » Mon Jan 05, 2009 9:00 pm

I find it hard to believe any of you are soooo certain the Steelers will lose to an 8-8 team we already beat. Who cares how many points we won by..we won. Heinz is a notoriously slow track which minimizes Sproles' effectiveness. Gates and Sproles will be sitting ducks for Clark and Polamalu. None of the SD WR's have blazing speed. With the snow, I expect the game to play out much like the last where the Steelers won 18-10. Well...11-10...but we all know the story there. These conditions favor a power running game. If Sproles gets 20 carries, he will leve on a stretcher. He is too small to beat this Physical Steeler D. I agree, on a fast track he would present all sorts of problems...but in the cold and snow, he will be reduced to a human pinata. I fear the tall WR's Jackson, Floyd, Gates more than anything else. I think many of you underestimate how good this Steeler D is...I will go out on a limb and GUARANTEE a defensive TD and easy win....that Indy game was physical and KEY players on SD are banged up... If Ben doesn't give this game away-- this will not even be a contest. Ben is the only one who can prevent a Steeler domination.

Call me a naysayer, but this is *EXACTLY* the scenario that I fear.

This team could easily be 14-2, and undefeated at home had he not gift wrapped the Giants and Colts games.

I for one have never been more confident in a Steeler win.

Some Charger fags were yapping about how Rivers can handle the Steeler's rush..

Yeah, Rivers sure was great against the Steelers D last time...0 TD's, 2 Int's and a fumble which led to a safety...but at least he showed GREAT composure when he held onto the ball too long allowing Harrison to mug him in the end zone-- leading to the safety. Rivers had a 43.6 QB Rating. Before you blame the weather, Ben's QB Rating was 96.4.

I swear SOME of these Charger fans were not watching the same game last time. The Steelers doubled the Chargers offensive output and the game was only close due to a horrific pass interference call on Ike Taylor(on Jackson) which led to SD's only TD. Only 13 penalties called against the Steelers..to 2 against SD kept the game close. The NFL did everything they could to make up for the Chargers/Denver debacle and the Steelers still won... The Chargers won't get any gifts this Sunday...they will get the beatdown they should have gotten last time.

I'd forgotten about all those penalties... That's a good point.

Just an FYI, The Steelers did not have an offensive holding penalty called against the opposing team for 4 or 5 games straight. Total horseshit! There's no way an aggressive D like the Steelers wouldn't have drawn at least one game during that stretch.

Anyway, that's something to consider - I just hope the O can score a TD. That's my greatest concern. They didn't last time.

Yeah... In the bag...

Get ole Roger on the phone and let him know there's no need for them to play as everyone knows Pittsburgh is going to win.

2 holding penalties for in 8 games(half the fucking schedule) and one was on a run play.
