Stillers Should Court SC Offensive Coordinator........
The type of screens and play fakes that SC ran against Penn State yesterday at the Rose Bowl took the pass rush and blitzes totally out of the game. When defenses blitz, it can really open up some big plays. I realize it would not be nearly as easy in the NFL, but SC wins because the OC knows how to counter just about every defensive strategy in the book.
Great OCs make the defense guess on almost every play. The Stillers offense is capable of being effective in all facets, and if we can run screens to Moore or play fakes on first down or 2nd and short, Ben holding the ball too long will no longer be a concern. If a team blitzes, cross them up with a trap, draw, or screen. (We run too many hot read plays off the blitz, which Ben isn't particularly effective with.) If a team shows blitz and backs off, pump fake and go long..... If a team goes back into coverage, go short to the back or TE. On short yardage, use the FB to carry or block, or use either back to play fake. (If we use play-fakes more often, the vanilla play would become more effective. Because the "D" is looking for the fake.) On max protection, run a draw or quick pop straight ahead to the back or TE on occasion. Or rollout to counter a rush up the middle. (The worst QB hits occur when they drop straight back or run after dropping straight back. The rollout also takes the intentional grounding penalty out of the equation. The QB can just throw it out of bounds if nothing's available.) Or upon heavy pursuit, run counters or reverses.
Every defensive strategy can be countered, and the Stillers are simply not doing that. The SC clinic against Penn State in the Rose Bowl was an example of how it's supposed to be done. And we should offer big $$$ for that offensive coordinator.

Whenever Tom Brady loses, it's always someone else's fault.

It might not work in the NFL, but USC is one of those teams that is playing with NFL calibre talent at nearly every position, so it might be something that would translate to the NFL.
They took Penn State out behind the woodshed, though, and had their way with them.
After his comments about the run game, I'm through with Arians. Something needs to be done.

I do not watch a ton of college ball but this guy couldn't possibly be any worse than Arians is as long as he can suck up to Tomlin as well as Arians has he'll get his way

Other candidates stilldodger would like to see fill the OC position if Arians gets fired
Bill Cowher
Lane Kiffin
Ken Whisenhunt
Bill Parcells
Joe Paterno
stillDODGER
wouldn't the guy have some connection to LA, therefore being a complete retard in not knowing the premiere team in college football, especially in socal, lost their OC to udub? If I were an admin I'd just ban him
