Effort on the Int Return

Postby Cras108er » Sun Dec 21, 2008 8:11 pm

Did anyone else notice the weak effort on the Int return. I saw several linemen givng chase, but I don't blame them for not making the tackle. I also saw Ben make an effort, but everyone else seemed to have just given up - especially Nate Washington, who appeared to be jogging behind the play. I know the game was essentially over, but where is your pride when you let someone return an int 83 yards across the middle of field.

That falls into the category of special teams play in my opinion. The offense is suddenly covering a return man. The Steelers under Cowher and Tomlin have SUCKED at tackling and giving chase. Thats because our entire OL is a bunch of out of shape bloated snack packs. I am surprised that Hines doesnt make the tackle on more of these INTs. Do you remember Bens first year in the league playoff loss the two retarded Neil Odonnel type INTs returned for TDs?
