flex scheduling for sunday's game?

Postby isfry » Tue Dec 16, 2008 7:08 pm

Anyone know, or think, if the NFL has any plans to bump this Sundays game aginst the Titans to the late spot?

Won't happen... NFL is required to do it 12 days in advance. Can't do it at this late notice.

Actually, the real reason it didn't get bumped two weeks ago was because CBS blocked it (you're allowed to block a game from being flexed).

Yeah, NFL does it within 12 days of the game, except in the last week of the season when they wait until after week 16's games. Would kinda be a pain if you were traveling to the game which gets flexed although at least you would get to see a good one.

I guess I just thought the battle for AFC's #1 seed was important enough to move it. 10 o'clock in the morning is early to be eating roethlisburgers...

Yep - couldn't remember where I saw the 12 day rule...

But, Wikipedia has a wealth of information about it under "NFL on Television"... very informative and interesting.

I'm glad CBS protected it because FOX flexed the Eagles/Redskins game to 4:15, and now I can see Steelers/Titans at 1:00.

I wouldn't have been able to had they flexed it to 4:15.

Actually, each team can only have a max of 5 night games, which the steelers already hit, which is why this game wasn't moved.

Still:

That's true, but we're talking about the move from 1pm to 4:15.
