Re: Worst offensive coaching job in the history of the NFL?
Whatever people think of BR and our offense, the consensus seems to be that Arians is largely to blame for how bad our offense is, meaning our offense is worse than the sum of its parts because of him.
So what teams' offense is better than it should be thanks to a great OC?

Re: Worst offensive coaching job in the history of the NFL?
I thought our offense was going to be unstoppable this year, especially after that blowout of the Texans in week 1. I made excuses for our offense because of the weather in the first Cleveland.. but there's been no need for excuses since then. They are awful. I am more nervous when our offense is on the field than when our defense is. It's easy to blame everything on Arians, but you can't. Yes, there have been many questionable play calls, but many of the play calls would have worked if we could have executed properly. It seems to me like there have been a lot more dropped passes by all of our receivers this year. Ben is at fault for a lot of those picks, but I can think of at least 3 that were the fault of the receivers. Not to mention a lot more penalties than last year, and they aren't just coming on the road either. Minus that holding penalty on Willie Colon in the Giants game, Nate would have had another long touchdown catch and we would have won that game. I recall having a shit ton of stupid penalties in the Colts game as well.
We need better play calling when it comes to running plays. People act like we don't try to run, but we do. It's kinda hard for Arians to call more running plays when every run goes for 2 yards or -2 yards. I'm not an NFL defender and I can even tell when we are going to run. Just pay attention to the way Ben stands behind center and scans the field. We simply don't have the personnel anymore to just run the ball down people's throats anymore, but that shouldn't mean we can't run at all. We should try running out of shotgun and not running as much on first down. Also, goal line runs behind Kemo need to stop as well. The lack of ability to run has taken away the play action which used to be a big part of our offense. This offense is going to have to start running the ball effectively if we are going to win a championship, but the whole offense needs to be more disciplined in general. I don't know how you can blame penalties and dropped passes on Scarians. The players have to take responsibility at some point.

Re: Worst offensive coaching job in the history of the NFL?
The Steelers are not that talented on offense. The OL is not in the top half of the league in terms of talent. Go look at all the top OL in football. They all have at least a couple of players that were first day draft choices. The steelers are trying to win with mid and late round players. The organization has ignored drafting OL early for several years and they are paying the price.
Our WR are also not the most talented in the league. The Steelers do not have a true #1 receiver. Washington and Holmes are inconsistent. You can count on them to drop passes every week. Ward has lost a lot of quickness through the years. He is strictly an in between the hash type of receiver.
I think the Steelers are middle of the pack in terms of talent on offense. They should definitely perform better, and Arians bears a lot of responsibility for the lackluster play. You also must consider that the Steelers are playing with two back up OL and average talent on offense.
I expect the Steelers to make changes to the OL this off season. If they are so talented, they wouldn't have to make changes to the OL.

I would have agreed up till this game.
Good mix in of SHORT PASSES.
I was shocked. In a good way.
And Im sure everyone's going to blame Arians for what happened as far as the 6 points in 57 minutes is concerned.
I'm sick of blaming arians. You know what? Everytime Arians makes a playcall involving any decision making from Ben, it's damn near suicide. Maybe he realized this and started making some short pass calls for once.
Granted, Arians is awful. But him and Ben combined have been an abomination against god (aka the stillers D)
