Anthonyc20 mock full 7 round v 2.0
Just assuming the steelers have just 1 pick each round
1st Round
Duke Robinson, OG, Oklahoma
Height: 6-5. Weight: 330.
Projected 40 Time: 5.28.
Projected Round (2009): Top 25 Pick.
Best guard in the draft, worth the first round pick and would probably be our best o-lineman immediately
2nd Round
Derek Pegues, FS, Mississippi State
Height: 5-10. Weight: 196.
Projected 40 Time: 4.43.
Projected Round (2009): 2.
Also a dynamic KR/PR. Anthony Smith looks like hes still in the doghouse, and Pegues in addition to being able to become the starting returner could also play corner and FS as well as a capable backup to Troy
3rd Round
Fenuki Tupou, OT, Oregon
Height: 6-5. Weight: 328.
Projected 40 Time: 5.23.
Projected Round (2009): 3.
Big enough to play guard, skilled enough to play tackle. Adds depth right away and could become a starting tackle immediately.
4th Round
Ron Brace, DT, Boston College
Height: 6-3. Weight: 330.
Projected 40 Time: 5.25.
Projected Round: 3-4
Huge DT that has been the anchor of a very very good defense. Even can get into the backfield for a sack once in a while. Groomed to be the eventual starter
5th Round
Pannel Egboh, DE, Stanford
Height: 6-6. Weight: 280.
Projected 40 Time: 4.82.
Projected Roun: 4-5
More depth for the D End position. Perfect 3-4 lineman that could add depth at a thin position. Can also play NT in nickel/dime packages
6th Round
Joe Burnett, CB, Central Florida
Height: 5-11. Weight: 184.
Projected 40 Time: 4.48.
Projected Round: 6
Apparently none of the Steelers CBs can catch a football. Well this guy is an interception machine and looks great on paper. Has had injuries in the past. Depth at CB is a concern with Deshea getting sort of old
7th Round
Rodney Ferguson, RB/FB New Mexico
Height: 6-0. Weight: 237.
Projected 40 Time: 4.58.
Projected Round (2009): 6-7
Has produced against BCS schools in the past. With the fiasco that let Carey Davis become the feature back for part of one game, the Steelers might address this position. Who knows
I have been right with every first round pick on my mocks here since Roethlisberger. Remember that before you spout off and go Steelers!

I hope that you are wrong, because you say that Duke is a top 25 pick...
...and I want the Steelers to pick 32nd.

Re: Anthonyc20 mock full 7 round v 2.0
Anthonyc20 is SOOOO full of shit saying he nailed the Steelers first round pick every year since Ben. I posted on and read this site for the past 6 years, and I can say for an absolute FACT that nobody guessed Rashard Mendenhall for the 1st round pick last year. The year Ben came out it was common knowledge that Ben would be a top 5 pick, and everyone here debated Phillip Rivers, Shawn Andrews or a CB with our first pick.
Any asshole who tells you they nailed Ben, Miller, Holmes, Timmons, Mendenhall all before the draft is a complete lying buffoon! In fact, the site runs a contest to guess the Steelers draft picks most years, and absolutely NOBODY got Mendenhall last year. Not one correct 1st round guess..
Onto this mock.
1. - Not bad, Duke is a good guard and a real possibility.
2. - Hard to see a FS that high when OL, DL, and CB will be the glaring needs. Clark will be the starter here for a good while longer.
3. - Tupou has absolutely ZERO chance to fall to the late 3rd round. NONE. He is going to go in the first or 2nd round, and that is a lock. Tupou falling to around pick 90 is assinine.
Also, you shouldn't "assume the steelers have just 1 pick each round" when they already have two 7th rounders due to the Mahan trade and are locked in to get a 3rd round comp pick for Faneca.

Any of the old guard will tell you otherwise.
And not only did I nail the holmes pick, I predicted the trade with the Giants as well. Also got the 2nd round pick of Woodley right.
Timmons and Miller with both easy guesses, holmes and mendenhall were just players I liked so I put them up there.
And I'm not going to assume anything due to any extra picks we will pick up or trades to move up/down until its closer to draft day.
The Steelers don't need a player who can play both safety positions, cornerback, and is a dynamic return man? You must be watching a different team...

Re: Anthonyc20 mock full 7 round v 2.0
Funny, I correctly predicted the powerball 5 weeks in a row, just picked the numbers I liked. Even picked the daily 4 right. I just didn't play the numbers...
If you did "predict" Mendenhall you certainly did not do it in the prediction thread / contest as NOBODY got him right. There is no proof that you correctly predicted the 1st round pick right, ever, because you didn't. Ask the old guard, dude I have read here for years. If you want a prediction to count man up and enter it into the contest each year and then you'll have proof. You didn't enter or got it wrong last year. Don't make shit up, you make yourself look like a buffoon when you do....

I didn't enter anything, but my mocks have been up on this board every year. It doesn't really matter whether you believe it or not, you've pretty much shown your credibility by not knowing who Pegues is (saying its a bad pick because the Steelers need a corner, which he has played in college) and using elementary school insults. My steelers mocks have also been posted on walterfootball.com, not sure if they archive posts though.

This coming from the guy who said Branden Albert would be "a reach" for the Steelers to draft him at pick 23 before the draft.....

Steelers have only allowed 4 more sacks than the Chiefs, and the Chiefs overall LG-RT is better than the Steelers, so he wouldn't have been an upgrade.

Re: Anthonyc20 mock full 7 round v 2.0
Since this topic has segued into past drafts, here were my predictions. They were not posted here, but this is what they were:
2000: Chad Pennington.....(MAC homer)
2001: Dan Morgan.....(Thankfully, I was wrong. See: concussions)
2002: Ed Reed.....(alas...)
2003: Rashean Mathis.....( I wanted Troy Polamalu, but honest NEVER thought it would ever, ever, ever occur. Thankfully, it did).
2004: Ben Roethlisberger.....(I convinced myself that only three teams in the top 11 needed a QB: SD, NYG, & PITT. Yet, there was no way...until Marty fell in love with Rivers, and the chances became much greater).
2005: Heath Miller.....(everyone and there mother saw this one coming).
2006: LenDale White.....(did not really want LenDale, but figured that Cowher did).
2007: Patrick Willis.....(hoped, dreamed, & prayed that Colbert would trade up. Alas...)
2008: Mike Jenkins.....(no way I figured it was Mendenhall).

Re: Anthonyc20 mock full 7 round v 2.0
What's the point in getting involved in mock drafts prior to knowing actual draft position?
I don't see the point.
Maybe someone can help me out here?

Re: Anthonyc20 mock full 7 round v 2.0
the same point in "claiming" past draft picks that nobody can verify. BTW I picked Bradshaw in '70 when nobody else did. If you don't believe me, just ask me.
