We lost due to Ike Taylor

Postby Hi5Steeler » Sun Nov 09, 2008 9:17 pm

IKE TAYLOR TIP DRILL!

Ike had almost got an interception on the long bomb. If he would have concentrated on batting it down instead of trying to catch it he wouldnt have tipped it to wayne who then caught the tip and ran it in for a touchdown.

later in game he trys another catch ...tips it AGAIN...and i believe it was wayne again that caught it on i think...THIRD DOWN.....

two major tips on taylor that either one not tipped would have prevented seven points......and saved the game for us.

I am not blaming taylor though it sounds that way....

my real point is...this game is a game of inches....very few very small inches. the steelers should have won this game....either of those to balls dont get tipped by taylor....the pass attempt intercepted before the half on third and two....run the friggin ball.... and a couple other unlucky things....we would have won.....

THE DOLTS DID NOT OUT PLAY US.

WE HAD BAD LUCK ON D .....

AND BEN COST US THE GAME.....

sadly

ike played a good game, that tipped pass was just bad luck

ben however, no bad luck involved in his INT's, just bonehead throws. ben gets 100% of the blame for this loss here

thats true el nino ... but it was two ike tipped passes...the second one caught on third down ended up a TD for colts also.....so .... my point again.....BAD LUCK.... Ike played pretty lights out most of the game I thought. and could have ended up with two ints...which would have been the win for us....

but if DBs could catch the ball they would be WRs..... known fact.

oh well

Woulda, coulda, shoulda.

Dad used to say "If pigs could fly, we wouldn't go outside anymore."

He also said, "Don't bet on a game where the ball bounces funny."

Troy dropped a sure pick for a TD on the play before the punt that gave the Steelers the ball at the end of the half that led to Ben's pick and the 17-14 halftime lead.

Crazy luck all around.

But for Ben's shitty play, yet again.

Troy didn't drop that pick, the TE put his hand in the way.

Ike should have had the pick on the first pass.

The second would have been a miracle.

But the DBs need work on their hands- that's for sure.

Oh- and the TE knocked the ball slightly away from Troy as Troy was coming in from behind him...troy did not have time to adjust to the deflection.

This loss wasn't on Ike. Ike had a great game with bad luck mixed in. Good news is he WAS IN POSITION and didn't get beat. Not even by a pinkie. Bad news is, lucky ass Manning and his offense get the breaks and come out of Heinz with a win. They did NOT outplay us, and their 22 were nowhere near better than our 22.

Ben had a good game before those 2 badly thrown picks. Obviously in certain situations, he is not on the same page as the receivers. Maybe not practicing has something to do with it? Or maybe Arians calling shit playcalls to benefit noone, esp. Ben. The running game needs to be adressed and not givin' up on. The play action is non existent, and that puts more pressure on Ben where he already has the pressure of a poor O-linemen who can't pass protect. Ben didn't lose this...the coaching staff lost this... Arians in particular. (Just like all of our 3 losses.)

See a trend? I do.

Bingo. Would have been a hell of a play if he could have hung onto it though.

Ike played well, but he had to knock the ball down, not up. Ike is a typical Steelers CB. Covers ok, does, ok, but ultimately can't make the play. Christ, Hank Poteat is still in the league after we let him go years ago. Our coaching staff is overrated. How many of our Db's have gone to the Pats and other teams and played lights out? I fucking hate Belisuck, but he knows how to get the most out of his players and how to coach them up. I'd hate to say it, but if Belifuck coached this team...

Yeah, it would be nice to have the other teams' play calling and signals. Fuck Bellicheat. His defense was sorely his offense for many years. He came up with an offensive system that only Tom Brady can run, and run it with perfection. All it really is, is dink and dunk shit, and your QB being smart and precise with the ball. The defense is old and has many re-jects, but they are hardly on the field. Being fresh has a lot to do with it, and they play mostly with leads where the defense can pin their ears back and that results in pressure. When you get pressure the secondary doesn't have a chance to be out on an island. That's the difference in NE's corners and the rest of the league's corners. Fuck Bellicheat.
