Hard
Hat Award (Game # 11, @ KC)
Stillers OLB Jason Worilds is the winner of
the weekly Hard Hat Award, given to the Stiller
player who best embodies the iron-tough, hard-as-steel attitude of the steel
workers inside the blast furnace of a still mill.
Startign
again in place of LaMarr Woodley, Worilds had his finest game as a pro player, with 4 solos, an
assist, a sack, and a couple hurries. Of
course, the Hard Hat is far more than mere paper-statistics. Worilds continually created havoc and showed
strong hustle and gusto. He had good pressure on 3d
& 6, 1st drive, to force a hasty incompletion. He then showed great hustle after rushing QB
to come back and nab the WR on a 3rd down WR screen to stop the runner short of
the sticks and force a punt. Many hulking,
lazy OLBs would have been content to merely loop rush -- and then jog n jake -- on this kind of play, but Worilds never allowed his
motor to stop. Worilds also made a
superb stop on a draw play at 8:40 4Q.
Others receiving consideration were CB Keenan
Lewis and SS Ryan Mundy.
Kudos to Worilds for winning the Hard
Hat Award.
Wear the Hard Hat proudly, Jason !
