Hard Hat Award (Game #6, @
Stiller WR Hinesie Ward is the winner of the weekly Hard Hat Award, given to the Stiller player who best embodies the iron-tough, hard-as-steel attitude of the steel workers inside the blast furnace of a still mill.
Just a few weeks after being held to a paltry 14 yards of receiving against the PoeBirds, Ward had his best all-around game of the season, grabbing 7 passes for 131 yards. His TD was simply an outstanding Hard Hat effort, as he ducked under a tackle on an out, then eluded a tackler at the 4 and then twisted into the EZ. Hines had an incredible grab on a seamer late in the 2Q, in which he plucked a pass away from the DB in amazing fashion for a 26-yard gain. He also had a key 4Q blitz pickup.
There were a couple other players in consideration by The Committee. After fumbling the opening KO, Emanuel Sanders came back with 3 strong returns, plus a good coverage stop and a clutch grab at WR. Jason Worilds came off the bench in the 2H and applied plenty of harassment on the QB in passing situations. McFadden again had strong tackling support.
Kudos to Ward for winning the Hard Hat Award. Wear the Hard Hat proudly, Hinesie !
