My losses were wildly different. The Cardinals won and were never really in jeopardy. They just didn't try very hard in the second half. The Rams scored 10 unanswered second half points to pull within 8 for the back door cover. Oh well. My other loss of course was the massive cluster fuck that was the Steelers in Arrowhead. The funny thing (not ha-ha funny.... pathetic funny) about the game for me was that until the consecutive long passes to Lance Long and Chris Chambers on the Chiefs last touchdown drive I still thought the Steelers were going to easily win. Probably score late to cover. Despite all the fuck ups previously. Not that it would have helped me cover, but it is still hard to fathom the Steelers failing to score on three drives after the score was tied. The brutal loss led to a flurry of car bombs and a blackout before the Sunday night game. At least I didn't have to watch Jay Cutler.
Car Bomb
Half pint chilled Stout (Guinness)
1/2 oz. Irish Cream Liquor (Bailey's)
1/2 oz. Irish Whiskey
Pour half a pint of chilled Guinness into a beer mug and let it settle. Take a shot glass filled with 1/2 oz. of Irish whiskey on the bottom and 1/2 oz. of Irish cream on top. Drop the shot glass into the Guinness and chug.
Time to admit this week that I have devolved into complete cluelessness. I have no idea what the hell is going on in the NFL. The really bad teams are playing a little better. Or at least Vegas is just giving the really bad teams more points to make picking against them tougher. I am just going to throw some shit up against the wall and see if anything sticks in a sort of G.G. Allin way. I'm perfectly fine with banging my head against the wall til the blood flows (metaphorically) as long as it is because of my fake bets and not another Steelers debacle.

Best Bet
Indianapolis Colts (-3.5) over Houston TexansDidn't these teams just play? <google>Yeah, just a couple of weeks ago on November 8. Actually because of the bye the last game the Texans played before the loss to the Titans last Monday night. The Texans had a fourth quarter lead and lost by 3 when Kris Brown missed a 42 yarder as time expired.</google> Back-to-back losses as time expired with Brown missing a kick. Hmmmm..... The Texans just can't seem to get over the hump and Gary Kubiak could pay with his job. In fact the new hot rumor is that Bill Cowher could land in Houston. He certainly would have the talent to win immediately. The points here are a bit problematic. The Colts have not been blowing anybody out and the Texans haven't lost by more than a single score since the week one clunker against the Jets. I just sort of think they are due for a letdown the way they lost their last two games to drop to 5-5.
Others
Miami Dolphins (-3) over Buffalo BillsI'm not going to over think this one. The Dolphins still have an outside shot at the playoffs. The Bills are playing out the string under an interim coach that is very unlikely to be around next year.
Philadelphia Eagles (-9) over Washington Redskins
I wanted to take the Lions on Thanksgiving where they have traditionally done well. Alas the shoulder injury to Matt Stafford scared me away. I cant bet on Daunte Culpepper. Then I considered the other big Thursday dog. Yes, this is what it has come down to.... Thinking about picking the Lions or Raiders. My heart just wasn't into it.... The Redskins burnt me a few weeks ago against the Broncos and deserved a better fate in Dallas. So what? They are still the Redskins. Still coached by Jim Zorn. Still impotent on offense. The Eagles are due for a big game. Why? I don't know. I'm making this up as I go along. But what the hell. It is better than taking the Lions or Raiders.
