Hard Hat Award (Game #1, vs. Tennessee)

Stiller LBs Jamie Harrison and Keyaron Fox are the co-winners of the weekly Hard Hat Award, given to the Stiller player who best embodies the iron-tough, hard-as-steel attitude of the steel workers inside the blast furnace of a still mill.

Harrison picked right up where he left off in 2008 with another sterling, hard-nosed game.   Dirty Harry was destructive all nite long.  His play that won a share of the award came on the force-fumble of Bo Scaife after a short reception, in which Harrison made a crisp, clean hit to dislodge the ball for a turnover.  After the game, Scaife bellyached and moaned that the hit was dirty, which was a load of crap.  It was a good, clean, crisp tackle.

Fox, a special teamer, was pressed into he starting chores when Larry Timmons ankle would not allow him to dress.  Fox responded to the challenge with flying colors, making several solid stop in the ground game as well as after completions.  He finished with a superb 5 solos and 5 assists, along with a fumble recovery off the FF of Harrison.  Not shabby for a special teamer whod never started a meaningful game for the Stillers.

Others receiving consideration from The Committee were Benji Roethlisberger, Hines Ward (his fumble obviously ruined his chances), Troy Pola (his injury obviously ruined his chances), and Mike Wallace.  Those with no chance whatsoever at the award this week included LeMarr Woodley, Frank Summers, Limas Sweed, Willie Parker, and Casey Hampton.

Kudos to Harrison and Fox for winning the Hard Hat Award.  Wear the Hard Hat proudly, gents!
