Notes on the Bills game:

YPA: The Stillers averaged 4.54 yards per passing attempt. This is by far the lowest total for any winner. Philly (5.19) beat Dallas, NYG (5.55) beat NO and the Bolts (5.89) beat the Bengals. Every other winning team was +6.50. (4) losers were +6.50 too; however, each of those defenses gave it up thru the air at rates ranging from 7.10 to 10.26.

(13) teams lost Sunday; of those, only (6) were less effective passing the ball than the Stillers. They were Dallas (2.00), Cin-City (3.94), the Skins (3.96), Jaxville (4.35), Carolina (4.43) and Buffalo (4.44). As bad as they looked Sunday, the Bills broke even passing; the game differential in this category (0.10) certainly was not the deciding factor. Further, the difference between the Stillers and any loser but Dallas was insignificant. (5/6) losers listed previously were within 0.50; add that to 4.54 and the result is 5.04. 5.04 is less than 5.19 (the Eagles number being the next lowest YPA for winners); in sum, the Stillers passing game remains in losing territory.

QB comparison: Under constant pressure, Rob Johnson was 13/22/0 for 104 yards. Under little if any pressure, Kordell Stewart was 15/22/0 for 107 yards.

Big plays: All (3) RB had a run exceeding 20 yards. CB Scott and Washington each brought back takeaways for 60+ yards. CB/PR Hank Poteat had (2) returns exceeding 20 yards; (1) went 39. The Stillers had (0) passing plays over 20 yards.

Front 7: The Bills entered the game with their 3rd and 4th OT and finished with their 4th and 5th. This is the equivalent of the Stillers starting Ross and Nkwenti and finishing with MN and Vincent. The Stiller Front 7 dominated; given their opposition, we should have expected nothing less.

Coaching genius: Tim Lewis took advantage of match-up opportunities over the Bills right side. Coach Tim had Joey Porter lined up all across the Bills front; thats all good and well need to see more of this.

Bad craziness: With KVO out, and Hoke de-activated, the Stillers played with only (5) D-linemen. I like Tim Baker but the Stillers needed a 6th man upfront more than they needed a 5th WR.

Coming up: Excluding the Jets, future Stiller opponents are currently
