Playoff Bets (Super Bowl)

January 29, 2013 by Steel Haven

The Falcons got off to a big lead and collapsed in a repeat of the divisional round. At least they hung on for the push. Then I was let down by Bill Belichick and Tom Brady the first time I ever rooted for them in my life. I got what I deserved.

I am going to be physically ill if what I believe will happen on Sunday actually transpires. Heavy drinking and eating of greasy foods won't help. Watching deer antler spray abuser Ray the Knife Lewis go out on top will be unbearable. Hopefully I will be wrong or at least pass out at halftime (after the Beyonce wardrobe malfunction).

Super Bowl

Baltimore Ravens (+3.5) over San Francisco 49ers

Everyone keeps saying how the Ravens are now an offensive and not defensive team. Yet I am making my pick based on defense. The Ravens defense is coming off dominating performances against Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. Meanwhile the Niners defense has not been as good as they were in the regular season. Their sudden lack of a pass rush should play right into the hands of Joe the Mad Bomber Flacco. Remember when Dave Wannstedt chose Tyler Palko as his starter at Pitt and Flacco transferred to Delaware? Good times.

Last Week

Atlanta Falcons (+4.0) over San Francisco 49ers PUSH

New England Patriots (-9.0) over Baltimore Ravens LOSS

Playoffs: 6-3-1
