STILL PIPE 'Rolls' Into Town

First and foremost, I must say that I am thrilled to be part of the hardest hitting, no bullshit Team here at Stillers.com.  I am not a professional reporter or writer, I am just a fan. I cant even remember when I became Stiller fan, five, six years old. Anyway, its all about the Stillers, so whatever. Nowhere else will you get the stuff youll find here, and Im pumped!

So lets hit'it.

Holy shit what the hell just happened?  We sit on a team that the whole world gave great respect and prediction, and what do we do? Come out and play like dog shit. Our starting QB, last seasons team MVP, is now benched. We cant run the freaking ball. Our best LB (arguably, next to Joey) has a bum ankle, and hasnt played a snap yet. Our secondary is getting scorched. Special Teams still suck. And here we sit only one game out of first place in our division at 1-3. What the fuck?

Well, this is my take

Offense

I think Im still in shock about what the hell has happened with this offense. Stewart is now on the pine, and seeing that an even bigger contract year is looming, he is in his final season as a Stiller. I was always behind Kordell, and rooted as hard as I could for him, but it just didnt happen. I respect the guy because he always seemed to give his all, was very durable, and played with all his heart. Those are the players we fans love to have. Others think he may resurface this season, but if he does it will be because of an injury or we are not going to the playoffs.

I really doubt that Cowher wants to be a pass-happy offense, but he may no choice. This O is changing into a team that is going to start to pass first, then set up the run. Just run later in the game, when the O Line is most effective.  It must.

Maddox could turn out to be the perfect type of QB this O needs, accurate, efficient, and still potentially deadly. The WRs alone are quality guys. We need to utilize all our weapons, and leave the play-making to the talent we have, and Stewart cannot do this. I feel this offense is coming around, and will be there, like last season, come playoff time.

Defense

It's pretty simple to me. This defensive team must be aggressive. Tim Lewis is where I'll point most of the blame. He claims that he is blitzing plenty, but when you send only 3 DL and a LB, that is not a blitz. This veteran secondary must be challenged to tight coverage with heavy blitz schemes. Everyone else seems to know this, but still we play this pussy-zone and titty-man coverages. By playing more aggressive it forces our players to be more focused and play with a little more passion. When you 'drop back' in coverage all day you become complacent. Also, getting Bell back ASAP is critical to this D. We need his aggressive youth, speed, and relentlessness like Joey in there.

Special Teams

I refuse to even comment on the continual piss-poor play of the special teams.

The good news is weve beaten the Clowns, and we now get the Bengals to cure all our wounds and get this team ready to play a big Monday nighter against the Colts.

Ill have my Week 6/Game 5 article up soon. There be some nice tidbits for you Vegas-type fans.

Later.
