Hard
Hat Award (Game #6, @ Atlanta)
No one is the winner of the weekly Hard Hat Award,
given to the Stiller player who best embodies the iron-tough, hard-as-steel
attitude of the steel workers inside the blast furnace of a still mill.
In a game in which the Stillers were up 17-7 and in complete
command of the game, the entire team went into a pathetic funk, committing
dumbassed mistake after dumbassed mistake.
And it wasn't just one phase of the game (ie, spec teams) or just a few
players. It was all phases and all
players. Fumbles. Dropped passes. Dumbassed penalties.
Softee play. Shoddy
tackling. Piss poor technique. Weak intensity. Horrific lack of focus. Stupid-assed
celebration after score. A flaccid
defense that didn't make one stop in clutch time. And on and on.
Overall, you typically get beaten when you have nobody that
even remotely emulates the standards of the Hard Hat Award. Typically, no Hard Hat style of play means
no "W" in the win-loss column.
Kudos to nobody for winning the Hard Hat Award. Dont wear the Hard Hat proudly,
gentlemen.
