.1.Chicago Bears6-0Offense that was shut down before the bye on Sunday night in Arizona should be able to rebound big time at home against the defensively challenged 49ers.
.2.Indianapolis Colts6-0Manning is an expert at winning regular season games. Of course nobody really cares anymore until he starts winning playoff games.
.3.Denver Broncos5-1Lack of offensive productivity remains a concern.
.5.New England Patriots5-1Have been mum on the elbow injury suffered by Seymour. That is their way. Losing him for an extended period would be costly.
.7.New Orleans Saints5-1Get tested off the bye with the Ravens coming to town. Will emotions continue to carry them at home?
.11.Cincinnati Bengals4-2Passing game remains out of synch due to problems with the offensive line. Palmer has to be happy that Abraham won't be playing this coming week.
.13.New York Giants4-2Undefeated with 16 sacks in the 3 games since the bye. Had only 2 sacks in the 3 games before the bye.
.4.San Diego Chargers4-2Lost a divisional game on the road on a last second field goal. Then found out Merriman tested positive for a performance enhancing drug. Merriman will appeal the 4 game suspension. Don't expect him to win. The hope is that Phillips will be ready to return from his calf injury before Merriman's appeal is denied.
.16.Atlanta Falcons4-2Don't write too much into Vick's 4 touchdown passes against the Steelers. Crumpler was allowed to run free and the wideouts still did very little.
.18.Minnesota Vikings4-2Get a prime time forum at home on Monday night against the Patriots after their impressive win in Seattle.
.6.Seattle Seahawks4-2Hasselbeck's sprained MCL will sideline him for 3 or 4 weeks. Can Wallace carry the load in his absence?
.12.Baltimore Ravens4-2Come off the bye with Billick back firmly in control of the offense. That has not really been such a good thing since he left Minnesota.
.8.Carolina Panthers4-3Tough team to read. Play a lot of close games. Against both good competition and bad competition.
.10.Philadelphia Eagles4-3All 3 of their losses have come on the last play of the game.
.17.St. Louis Rams4-2Now really must be kicking themselves about letting the opportunity to beat the Seahawks get away.
.19.New York Jets4-3Legitimate threat to win 10 games with Cleveland, Houston, Green Bay, Buffalo, Miami and Oakland left on the schedule.
.20.Kansas City Chiefs3-3Completely different team in Arrowhead.
.9.Jacksonville Jaguars3-3Defensive injuries have taken a toll.
.14.Dallas Cowboys3-3Bledsoe took a pounding in the first half and was benched after throwing an ill advised interception on the goal line. The benching didn't help. Romo threw 3 interceptions in the second half.
.15.Pittsburgh Steelers2-4Defending Super Bowl Champions again found a way to lose. Disappointing. Turnovers continue to be a major problem. Fumbles by Roethlisberger and Parker led directly to Falcons touchdowns. Both changed the momentum of the game when they seemed to be taking control.
.23.Tampa Bay Buccaneers2-4Turned 2 Barber interception returns for touchdowns and an improbable 62 yard field goal by Bryant as time expired into a surprising victory.
.27.Green Bay Packers2-4Favre has settled down and is playing better after trying to do too much at the start of the season. The value of playing him over trying to develop Rodgers is still more about fostering good will in the short term than improving the long term future of the franchise.
.23.San Fransisco 49ers2-4Things should get easier after their trip to Chicago.
.30.Houston Texans2-4Carr has to be thrilled with Kubiak's offense.
.21.Washington Redskins2-5Money has not been the answer. Either in assembling the roster or the coaching staff.
.22.Buffalo Bills2-5Losman has regressed during their 3 game losing streak.
.29.Tennessee Titans1-5Got to celebrate their first victory for 2 weeks because of the bye.
.25.Cleveland Browns1-5Carthon became the third offensive coordinator to lose his job before the mid-point of the season. Like the problem is playcalling and not a lack of talent on offense.
.28.Detriot Lions1-6Can use the week off to lick their wounds.
.32.Oakland Raiders1-5There will be no winless team this season.
.26.Arizona Cardinals1-6Hangover from the Monday night debacle against the Bears carried over to Oakland.
.31.Miami Dolphins1-6Harrington has not been the answer. What a surprise. Saban paniced after 4 games and switched QBs. He seems to have lost his team in the process.
