Best Bets (Super Bowl)

February 01, 2012 by Steel Haven

The conference championships put me over .500 for the playoffs. The Giants continued to roll. The Ravens and Joe Flacco covered in defeat while outplaying the Patriots and Tom Brady. John Harbaugh couldn't have had a worse day on the sidelines. On to Indianapolis....

Super Bowl

New York Giants (+3.0) over New England Patriots

I've picked the Giants and won for five straight weeks. Why stop now? The Giants have gotten healthy at the right time. They beat the Patriots at Foxboro in week 9 when they were at less than full strength. Frankly I think the Giants win just about every matchup. Getting points is a bonus. Eli Manning is just as good as Tom Brady. He has clearly outplayed Brady in these playoffs. The Giants have a better running game, offensive line and wide receivers. The Patriots only advantage on offense is Rob Gronkowski and he is nursing a high ankle sprain. The Giants have a better defensive line and secondary. Michael Boley is the best linebacker on either roster.

Last Week

Baltimore Ravens (+7.5) over New England Patriots WIN

New York Giants (+2.5) over San Francisco 49ers WIN

Playoff record: 6-4
