.2.Indianapolis Colts2-0Avenged last season's only home loss by winning ugly with stellar defense. Especially impressive was their ability to win when the offense wasn't firing on all cylinders.
.3.Pittsburgh Steelers2-0Again dominated an inferior opponent. Roethlisberger shook off his bruised knee and provided a big play element. Ward showed why he has been to the Pro Bowl for four straight season. Parker topped the century mark for the third time in three starts. And the defense held a second straight opponent to a single touchdown. Should get a better read on their ultimate prospects with a home game against the defending champions.
.5.Kansas City Chiefs2-0Rebuilt defense makes them a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
.1.New England Patriots1-1Lost the first of a brutal stretch of five games.
.6.Philadelphia Eagles1-1Took advantage of the opportunity to take out their frustrations from the opening week loss.
.9.Carolina Panthers1-1Righted the ship in a big way by knocking off the defending champions.
.4.Atlanta Falcons1-1Could not sustain intensity from Monday night opener after having to travel to the west coast on a short week of practice.
.7.Jacksonville Jaguars1-1Leftwich is one tough son of a bitch. Unfortunately the attempts to get him more weapons to pair with Smith and Taylor appear to have failed.
.11.Cincinnati Bengals2-0Palmer to Johnson and Houshmanzadeh is developing into a scary combination.
.13.New York Jets1-1Managed to put their opening week debacle in the past.
.16.Denver Broncos1-1A hobbled Bailey earned his millions with a game altering interception for a touchdown.
.19.Tampa Bay Buccaneers2-0Sometimes one player can make all the difference. Williams seems to be that player in Tampa.
.8.Buffalo Bills1-1Replacing Bledsoe with Losman may have caused more problems than it solved.
.20.Seattle Seahawks1-1Built a big lead at home and then hung on for dear life.
.24.New York Giants2-0Benefitted from getting a ninth home game.
.26.Washington Redskins2-0Brunell and Moss put on a fourth quarter show for those that weren't lulled to sleep by the display of offensive ineptitude in the first three quarters.
.12.Dallas Cowboys1-1This probably isn't going to be a pleasant week at practice with the fuming Parcells.
.10.San Diego Chargers0-2No longer taking anyone by surprise.
.23.St. Louis Rams1-1Need to run Jackson and Faulk more to protect Bulger and keep the defense off the field.
.18.New Orleans Saints1-1Seemed to run out of gas after emotional first week.
.30.Tennessee Titans1-1Fisher and McNair make this a more dangerous team than their overall talent level would suggest.
.31.Chicago Bears1-1Orton's ability to manage the game is a welcome addition to a team that will try to win with defense and power running.
.22.Oakland Raiders0-2A tough team to read. First two games were against two of the top teams in the AFC. Just couldn't get over the hump even though Moss was a difference maker on offense and the run defense performed better than expected.
.14.Baltimore Ravens0-2Wright has not been an improvement on Boller. That is not meant as an endorsement of Boller.
.15.Minnesota Vikings0-2Culpepper threw five interceptions to bring his two game total to eight.
.17.Detriot Lions1-1Not to be out done, Harrington matched division rival Culpepper's five interceptions.
.32.Cleveland Browns1-1Big plays from Dilfer to Edwards and Heiden shocked the Packers in Lambeau Field.
.21.Green Bay Packers0-2So far have failed to disprove the old adage that defense and the offensive line win games.
.25.Arizona Cardinals0-2Unable to score touchdowns in the redzone despite putting up some solid yardage totals.
.27.Miami Dolphins1-1Nobody said that Saban's job was going to be easy.
.28.San Fransisco 49ers1-1Rattay vividly demonstrated why Smith was their first round pick.
.29.Houston Texans0-2Torpedoed by Casserly's inability to build an offensive line to protect Carr.
