.2.Pittsburgh Steelers7-1Dominated an undefeated team for the second week in a row to become the first franchise to ever win back-to-back games against undefeated opponents after the sixth week of the season. The '72 Dolphins should send a case or two of Champaign to Pittsburgh. In the last 2 games the Steelers rushed for 473 yards and gave up only 28 yards on the ground. At the halfway point in the season they are ranked first in rushing yards and second in yards against. Ben Roethlisberger tied the record for most consecutive victories by a rookie quarterback to start his career. Things couldn't be better in Pittsburgh, although no one should forget that the season is only half over.
.3.New England Patriots7-1Showed why they are 2 time Super Bowl champions by giving a gutty performance in St. Louis despite a rash of injuries.
.1.Philadelphia Eagles7-1Run defense is a problem, but they are still the class of the depleted NFC.
.10.Indianapolis Colts5-3Peyton Manning and the offense have to try to win games on their own because the defense and special teams simply do not have the personel to succeed.
.5.Atlanta Falcons6-2Could be a scary playoff opponent if Michael Vick can get his act together in the WCO.
.11.San Diego Chargers6-3Scored 85 points in the last 2 weeks. Yes, you read that correctly....
.12.Denver Broncos6-3Jake Plummer became the first Broncos quarterback to throw 4 touchdown passes in consecutive games since Craig Morton in 1977. Sort of hard to believe that John Elway never managed the feat in 16 seasons.
.4.New York Jets6-2Things could get ugly in the short term with Quincy Carter forced into action for the injured Chad Pennington. Especially considering the Ravens are coming to town.
.9.Jacksonville Jaguars5-3Need David Garrard to come up big. At least Byron Leftwich is only supposed to miss 2 or 3 weeks instead of the rest of the season.
.7.Minnesota Vikings5-3Just not the same without Randy Moss which really shouldn't surprise anyone.
.15.Baltimore Ravens5-3Were again not overly impressive in victory, but took advantage of a shanked 7 yard punt from the 1 yard line by Derrick Frost and a 106 yard interception return for a touchdown by Ed Reed as the Browns drove to tie the game.
.17.Seattle Seahawks5-3Probably the most disappointing of all the 5 win teams. Have a chance to solidify their hold on the division and get a measure of revenge this week in St. Louis.
.6.New York Giants5-3The offensive line that received kudos during the fast start has fallen on hard times. Kurt Warner has been sacked 18 times in the last 3 weeks and has started turning the ball over while under pressure.
.16.Green Bay Packers4-4After a 1-4 start they have a chance this week coming off the bye to pull into a tie for the division lead with the Vikings.
.13.Houston Texans4-4Took a step back in Denver. Will be difficult to rebound in Indianapolis.
.14.St. Louis Rams4-4Bill Bellicheck repeatedly made Mike Martz look foolish.
.23.Tampa Bay Buccaneers3-5Lucky to be in the NFC where a 3 win team still has a legitimate shot at a wild card.
.8.Kansas City Chiefs3-5I jumped on the Chiefs bandwagon a little too early.
.19.Tennessee Titans3-5Desperately need Steve McNair and Chris Brown to stay healthy for a second half run.
.18.Detriot Lions4-4Have to be a bit concerned about the lack of production from Kevin Jones and the running game.
.24.Buffalo Bills3-5Mike Mullarkey has started to turn things around with some help from Willis McGahee.
.25.Chicago Bears3-5Craig Krenzel is proving to be a winner in the pros just like he was a winner at Ohio State. He improved his record as a starter to 2-0 despite a quarterback rating of 62.4.
.26.Washington Redskins3-5Joe Gibbs has them running the ball and playing defense. It would be nice though if Mark Brunell could do better than 6 of 17 passing for 58 yards.
.22.Cleveland Browns3-5Season is quickly slipping away.
.27.Cincinnati Bengals3-5Looked good dismantling the Cowboys. Wait, let me rephrase that statement. The Bengals played well.... With their orange jerseys and black pants they definitely did not look good. In fact they were an eyesore.
.20.Dallas Cowboys3-5Skill position players are S-L-O-W.
.21.New Orleans Saints3-5Being completely unprepared coming off a bye is an indictment of Jim Haslett.
.28.Arizona Cardinals3-5Denny Green got his 100th career win as the Cardinals broke their 17 game road losing streak.
.30.Oakland Raiders3-6Managed to break their 13 game road losing streak in Carolina.
.29.Carolina Panthers1-7Losing at home to the struggling Raiders shows just how far they have fallen.
.31.San Fransisco 49ers1-7In disarray. Losing on the field and bickering through the media. I am not sure why Fred Beasley and Kevan Barlow think criticizing Brandon Lloyd is going to help.
.32.Miami Dolphins1-8The Dave Wannstedt era officially ended on Tuesday with his resignation. Defensive coordinator Jim Bates will take over as interim head coach for the remainder of the season. Good luck Jim, you'll need it....
