Late Monday Afternoon Thoughts, following yet another Steeler win:

  1. The PG updated Cowhers record with an 11-point lead. Its now 86-1-1.Before downplaying this, please consider that both NY teams lost yesterday with 11 and 14 point leads.Leads me to
  2. The Ravens:Those lucky fucks. Can you imagine being a Jets fan today!!!Herm Edwards has his head up his ass.Listened a bit to WFAN in NY analyzing the game. The Jets are taken to task for the HB option pass at the end of the 1st half. They had a 14-0 lead, 1:56 to go, their ground game was going, and Carter was 8for 8 at the time.Even a 17-0 lead at the half kills the Ravens. Then, the stupid shits apparently let 20-some odd seconds run off of the clock inside the 5 late in the game, then use their last timeout on a deadball preceding 3rd down. They then, in true chickenshit fashion, kicked the tying FG on 3rd down, rather than risk disaster with 8 seconds remaining. They could have taken a delay, and had 3rd & goal at the Ravens 8, still with a TO in their pocket.
  3. Please stop the talk of Joey Porter for HH.I wouldnt bash Joey, and perhaps most anyone would have done the same thing, but hes much more valuable to us on the field.Thank God that Harrison was tremendous.Yknow that had Harrison sucked, and we lost, that wed be calling Joey every version of Stupid Fuck today.
  4. Talk Radio behind enemy lines here in New England is now convinced, after saying that injuries were no excuse initially, that the Pats loss to the Steelers was due to injury. One show had Vic Cerrucci from NFL.com on last week. The hosts advanced a theory that the media is creating an aura about the Steelers just to have someone different to talk about.Cerrucci dismissed this as so much bunk. They then asked him who would win on a neutral site. Cerrucci said the Steelers would win, as hes having a hard time eliminating the visions of the Steelers ass-whipping of the Pats out of his head.He referenced the Pats win on the Rams, which he thought was due to the Pats physicality with the Rams receivers, quickly pointing out that those methods would not work against Hines & Plax.
  5. Gotta admit that I was nervous with how long we let the Browns hang around yesterday.Had the makings of a game where one team dominates, then loses late, particularly after the goal-line stand, but the TD on the fumble return sealed it.
  6. What fun watching this defense. As a fan, we dont know whos coming, only that someone is!!!
  7. Im still scared of being caught by the Ravens. We may still have to beat them to win the division.I was hoping for a 3-game lead when they came to town.
