Best Bet (plus two)

October 12, 2016 by Steel Haven

Best bet worked out well. The Vikings took a big lead and never looked back. Scared the snake-bit Chargers might cover and lose which was exactly what happened. Very surprised the Eagles came out so flat after their bye. They fought hard to come back from a 14 point first quarter deficit before losing by 1 on a field goal in the final minutes after a Ryan Mathews lost fumble. Probably wouldn't have won against the spread anyway had Mathews held onto the ball, the field goal had been missed or Carson Wentz had led a late field goal instead of throwing his first career interception.

Can't get away from taking favorites.

Best Bet

Buffalo Bills (-8) over San Francisco 49ers

Can't believe I'm taking the Bills and giving up more than a touchdown. Hard to envision Chip Kelly turning to Colin Kaepernick making a difference.

Others

Tennessee Titans (-7) over Cleveland Browns

The Titans can run the ball and defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau has done a solid job. The Browns have the worst skill position talent in football, had so many QB injuries that they are desperately either Josh McCown will be back or Cody Kessler able to play. Oh the humanity!

Denver Broncos (-3.5) over San Diego Chargers

It's A Trap! - Admiral Ackbar

Road favorite on a short work week in a divisional matchup coming off a home loss with injury questions at QB. Everything about this screams Chargers except for Mike McCoy's penchant for blowing games. The line went from 3 to 3.5 on Wednesday morning when I make my picks final which hurt. The hook got me last week when I went against the Chargers. I'll go back to the well anyway.

Last Week

Minnesota Vikings (-6) over Houston Texans WIN

Oakland Raiders (-3.5) over San Diego Chargers LOSS

Philadelphia Eagles (-3) over Detriot Lions LOSS

Best Bets: 3-2, Overall: 7-8
