.1.Indianapolis Colts3-0Managing to win ugly against opponents that are taking away the deep pass.
.4.New England Patriots2-1Victory was costly in Pittsburgh. Harrison is done for the season with a torn ACL, MCL and PCL. Light broke his leg and will miss significant time. Even Belicheck and Brady may not be able to overcome setbacks of this magnitude.
.5.Philadelphia Eagles2-1Clearly the best team in the NFC. Doomed if McNabb succumbs to his sports hernia before the season comes to an end.
.2.Pittsburgh Steelers2-1Roethlisberger with a bad left shoulder showed a lot by leading a comeback late in the fourth quarter against the defending champions even though his team fell short. He also showed a lot after the game by admitting that the Patriots confused him with different looks in the second half. Remember, this is only his second season as a pro. If anyone is ever going to get Cowher over the top in the playoffs it is going to be Big Ben.
.7.Atlanta Falcons2-1All Vick does is win.
.8.Jacksonville Jaguars2-1Leftwich gets the positive press. The defense wins the games.
.9.Cincinnati Bengals3-0Winning the games they should win, which is a step in the right direction. The schedule remains relatively easy for a few more weeks.
.11.Denver Broncos2-1Ability to win at home remains an incredible asset.
.3.Kansas City Chiefs2-1Tanked on Monday night. All their problems from the past couple of years resurfaced. The defensive improvements of the first two weeks were not evident. The wideouts dropped more balls than they caught.
.12.Tampa Bay Buccaneers3-0Driving the Cadillac back to respectability. Hard to believe in hindsight that two backs were picked before Williams.
.14.Seattle Seahawks2-1Alexander deserves a long term contract.
.18.San Diego Chargers1-2Won a must win game against the Giants. Slow start means they can not afford a letdown in Foxboro.
.19.St. Louis Rams2-1Have not been the same team since Smith left for Chicago.
.6.Carolina Panthers1-2Somehow wrapped losses to the Saints and Dolphins around a victory over the Patriots. Obviously the lack of consistency is a big problem.
.16.Washington Redskins2-0Gibbs seems to be turning things around in his second year. Whether he can keep winning with Brunell is a major questionmark.
.17.Dallas Cowboys2-1Need improved secondary play to take the next step.
.15.New York Giants2-1Manning the younger continues to develop. Surprisingly the problem is defense.
.25.Minnesota Vikings1-2Back to being the front runner in the pathetic NFC North after Culpepper broke out in a big way with the help of Taylor and Williamson.
.13.Buffalo Bills1-2Losman appears to have been a monumental mistake. The season ending injury to Spikes doesn't help.
.30.Miami Dolphins2-1Saban and offensive coordinator Linehan have worked wonders.
.10.New York Jets1-2Preparing third stringer Bollinger to start against the Ravens after season ending injuries to Pennington and Fiedler. Not good.
.20.New Orleans Saints1-2The lack of a true home seems to be gnawing at them which really shouldn't come as a surprise.
.21.Tennessee Titans1-2Continue to fight hard for Fisher. Young defenders need time to develop.
.24.Baltimore Ravens0-2Have to be looking forward to facing Bollinger coming off the bye.
.22.Chicago Bears1-2Orton joined Culpepper and Harrington to become the third NFC North quarterback this season to turn the ball over five times in a single game.
.26.Detriot Lions1-1Had a lot to work on during the bye after the week two debacle in Chicago.
.23.Oakland Raiders0-3Were unable to handle a tough early season schedule that included the Patriots, Chiefs and Eagles.
.27.Cleveland Browns1-2Crennel already has them playing hard, disciplined football.
.28.Green Bay Packers0-3Still alive despite the horrific start because every team in their division has problems.
.29.Arizona Cardinals0-3Green has to be disappointed. Taking a dive to end up with Leinart might not be a bad idea.
.31.San Fransisco 49ers1-2Fell apart in the second half after giving the Cowboys a run for their money in the early going.
.32.Houston Texans0-2Made a scapegoat of offensive coordinator Palmer during the bye week. What they really need is more talent on the offensive line.
