Power Rankings (week 12)

November 30, 2016 by Steel Haven

Rnk LW* Team Record Comments
1. 1. New England Patriots 9-2 Guaranteed a 16th straight winning season.
2. 2. Dallas Cowboys 10-1 Dak trails only Brady in TD to interception ratio this season. Both have 18 TD passes. Dak has 2 interceptions, Brady only 1 interception. After Dak's 9:1 ratio the next best is Carr at 4.4:1.
3. 3. Oakland Raiders 9-2 Mack dominated the Panthers with his 9th sack of the season, a pick 6 and a game clinching forced fumble which he recovered himself.
4. 5. New York Giants 8-3 A pick 6 by finger-challenged firework aficionado Pierre-Paul helped them overcome the Browns in a game that was much closer than expected.
5. 7. Kansas City Chiefs 8-3 Hill was the first player since Sayers with a rushing, receiving and return TD in the same game.
6. 4. Seattle Seahawks 7-3-1 Digressed offensively during trip to Tampa. Failed to score double digits for the third time this season.
7. 8. Atlanta Falcons 7-4 Loss of Trufant to a torn pectoral muscle is a major blow to the defense.
8. 9. Detroit Lions 7-4 Slay interception after Prater's fourth quarter game tying FG led to the game winning FG. Still have trailed in the fourth quarter of every game this season with no contest decided by more than 7 points.
9. 6. Denver Broncos 7-4 Playoffs far from guaranteed for defending Super Bowl champs after tough OT loss with brutal remaining schedule.
10. 12. Miami Dolphins 7-4 Last time the franchise won 6 straight was over a decade ago in '05.
11. 15. Baltimore Ravens 6-5 Tucker is the only kicker that has yet to miss a FG or extra point this season.
12. 16. Pittsburgh Steelers 6-5 AB leads the league in receptions, receiving TDs (tied with Evans) and penalties for excessive celebration.
13. 10. Washington Redskins 6-4-1 Totaled over 500 yards of offense in consecutive games for the first time in franchise history.
14. 20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers 6-5 Evans joined Jefferson, Green and Moss as the only players in league history with over 1000 yards receiving in each of their first 3 seasons.
15. 11. Minnesota Vikings 6-5 Thanksgiving day loss in Detroit a blow to their playoff hopes.
16. 13. Houston Texans 6-5 Osweiler has thrown more interceptions than TDs this season. Guess Elway knows what he is doing.
17. 18. Buffalo Bills 6-5 Could return of Watkins propel them to a wild card spot? All AFC teams not in the West have a tough road if they can't win their division.
18. 22. New Orleans Saints 5-6 Brees tied Peyton and Favre with his 9th season throwing for 30 TDs or more.
19. 23. Tennessee Titans 6-6 Surging Mariota's early season struggles a distant memory.
20. 24. Green Bay Packers 5-6 Rodgers was the first QB this season to throw for over 300 yards against the Eagles.
21. 26. San Diego Chargers 5-6 Bosa continues to show why he was the top non-QB off the board in this year's draft.
22. 14. Philadelphia Eagles 5-6 First home loss this season drops them under .500.
23. 17. Indianapolis Colts 5-6 Tolzien was adequate on Thanksgiving night, but failed to score twice from the Steelers' 1 yard line.
24. 19. Arizona Cardinals 4-6-1 Palmer has already been sacked more times and thrown as many interceptions as all of last season.
25. 21. Carolina Panthers 4-7 Newton has taken a clear step back from his MVP season. Without him playing at that high level the rest of the team is simply not that good.
26. 25. Cincinnati Bengals 3-7-1 Unable to overcome drain of offensive skill position talent caused by injuries, offseason free agent defections.
27. 27. Los Angeles Rams 4-7 Goff gives them some hope. Should have gotten him on the field much sooner.
28. 28. New York Jets 3-8 Going nowhere yet will continue to waste time with journeyman free agent to be Fitzpatrick at QB.
29. 29. Chicago Bears 2-9 Receivers dropped a league high 10 passes last week with Jeffery out due to suspension, White out due to injury. The last by a wide open Wilson in the endzone would have won the game.
30. 30. Jacksonville Jaguars 2-9 Scored a TD on their opening possession for the first time in 25 games. Didn't matter.
31. 31. San Francisco 49ers 1-10 Kaepernick is the first QB in franchise history with 3 TD passes and 80 or more yards rushing in a single game.
32. 32. Cleveland Browns 0-12 Can they beat the Bengals, Bills, Chargers or Steelers to avoid going winless. Struggling Bengals or Chargers traveling east, both at home, are probably their best shots.
