What Would Parcells Do?

What Would Parcells Do

Since he's the crme de la crme of coaches, why not peek into his mind (or atleast his way of thinking):

- Play Haynes at RB, Taylor/Townsend at CB, Hope/Polamalu at S, and Haggans/Jackson at LOLB (gotta know what you've got).

- Start an offensive line of from left to right: Faneca, Vincent, Okobi, Simmons, Smith/Ross/Fordham.

- Inform Maddox that his contract will not be restructured in the offseason. He is signed for 3 more years, and if he has a problem then he should let Parcells know immediately. If there were a problem, then Batch/St. Pierre would get the call for the remainder of the season.I would be surprised if there is a problem though, because the Steelers would have the rights to Maddox for 3 years and you would have to make a lot of commission sales on insurance to make nearly a million per year.

- Inform Bettis that he will need to report to a minicamp "weigh-in" at 245lbs, and oh yeah it doesn't matter if the 'burgh media reports that Bettis is "in the best shape of his career".If he makes the weight, he is permitted to tryout for a position (presumably competing against an early round draft choice) providing that he has restructured his contract to the vet minimum. If he doesn't make the weight, he'll be a salary cap casualty.

- Tell Plaxico Burress that he's got 4 games and all of next season to set the world on fire with his talent. At the end of the road is a potential hefty payday by some team (though probably not the Steelers). So it's up to Plax to decide how badly he wants it.

- Tell Ward to keep doing what he's been doing, and that it hasn't gone unnoticed.

- Tell Alexander that his coaching skills won't be necessary on the field anymore.

- Tell Gildon that he'll be a salary cap casualty, so he's going to be "Keyshawned" for the remainder of the season.

- Inform both Lewis and Mularkey that their jobs are hanging in the air, and they best figure out how to use the young talent if they wish to remain in their positions next season. And the same goes for each and every position coach.
