- Even without Porter, what a job by the defense. I didn�t like that Holcomb led TV drive, but it was still quite a performance. That might as well have been Jerry Garcia out there instead of Jeff Garcia.
- Here�s what I don�t get. I think it was our last FG attempt, from the 10 or 15(?), and we ended up wasting a timeout. Granted, it was obvious the Brownies weren�t going to get back in the game, BUT, why use a timeout there. Kick the ball from 5 yards back, it is still a chip shot. But, we saw the debacle with the earlier attempt, so maybe a timeout was in order. No, I still say it was a waste of a timeout.
Another solid performance by The Bus. The 3 attempts from the one which didn�t make it at the end basically sucked, but it was still a nice performance.
I used to like Bob Ryan, especially after his comments about Jason Kidd�s wife. But, on Around The Horn today, the question was �If the AFC Championship Game was played today, in Pittsburgh, who wins?� And Bob Ryan said something like without a doubt, New England. He said we won only because of injuries. One of the other panel guys called him on that, said look at what happened when Duce got hurt, we had a backup come in and do the job. I guess the dumbass hasn�t heard of Hampton, Bell, Scott being hurt on our defense. What a dumbass. Actually, I think the one guy who interrupted him on the injury retort was the only one who said the Stillers would win.
It was actually a very good weekend football wise. The view from the Blue and Gold glasses on Saturday was extremely pleasant! Wonder if the two dreaded rivals of notre dame and the brownies have ever been beaten by us on the same weekend before?
