Best Bet (plus 2)

September 21, 2011 by Steel Haven

Everyone is giving kudos to reality show winner Jesse Holley on his overtime catch for the Cowboys. I am pissed. Holley had an easy touchdown for the best bet win before showboating on his way to the end zone and getting caught from behind. A push resulted. I split my other bets. Vick's injury helped on Sunday night with Jeremy Maclin dropping a Mike Kafka pass on a fourth down in the final minutes. The Broncos seemed to be cruising at home against the Bengals before escaping with a 2 point win. Betting on Kyle Orton is probably never a smart move.

On the road again - Just can't wait to get on the road again. My penchant for being enticed by road teams is back in full force after splitting with a pair of home teams last week. A pair of my picks including my best bet are road favorites in divisional matchups. Will I ever learn? Unlikely.

Best Bet

Arizona Cardinals (-3.0) over Seattle Seahawks

Kevin Kolb looks like the real deal. The problem is the Cardinals defense has given up 932 yards in 2 games. That's unlikely to be a problem against Tarvaris Jackson in Seattle.

Others

San Fransisco 49ers (+2.5) over Cincinnati Bengals

A west coast team playing the early game in the eastern time zone is a suckers bet. I am a big enough sucker to take the bait. Andy Dalton and the Bengals have been better than expected with a plus points differential and 1-1 record after a pair of road games. Clearly I am not a believer.

Detriot Lions (-3.5) over Minnesota Vikings

Leslie Frazier has been adamant in his defense of Donovan McNabb. The Lions have to be pleased.

Last Week

Dallas Cowboys (-3.0) over San Fransisco 49ers PUSH

Denver Broncos (-6.0) over Cincinnati Bengals LOSS

Atlanta Falcons (+2.5) over Philadelphia Eagles WIN

Year to Date: 2-2-2   Best Bets: 0-1-1
