Playoff Bets (wild card round)

January 06, 2016 by Steel Haven

Won seven of my last eight best bets. Ended regular season with Texans getting back-to-back best bet wins. Rams took a 6 point lead into halftime, couldn't score in second half or overtime. What can you do? Meaningless games in the final week are tough to predict. I was just taking a shot. Half point backdoor cover in Arrowhead was much more painful.

Honestly was shocked the Jets choked in Buffalo getting the Steelers into the playoffs. Special thanks to Rex Ryan, Sammy Watkins, Ryan Fitzpatrick, et al. Going with the road favorites in the AFC and both home teams (one favorite, one dog) in the NFC. Not real confident.

home team in bold

Saturday

Kansas City Chiefs (-3) over Houston Texans

Chiefs are winners of 10 straight, will they be victims of the Gunner Bob Prince's famed hidden vigorish. Not this week.

Pittsburgh Steelers (-2.5) over Cincinnati Bengals

Could Marvin Lewis really remain winless in the playoffs? Ben Roethlisberger needs to play better than he did the last two weeks of the regular season especially with Williams likely sidelined. AJ McCarron still expected to play one more game even though Andy Dalton had the cast removed from his broken thumb. Rushing Dalton back probably not a good move anyway.

Sunday

Minnesota Vikings (+5) over Seattle Seahawks

Line seems high, not quite this excited about the Seahawks yet. Cardinals basically had nothing to play for last week so I'll take blowout win in Arizona with a grain of salt.

Washington Redskins (-1) over Green Bay Packers

Can't believe I'm taking the Redskins. Packers’ offense completely out of synch.

Last Week

Houston Texans (-6.5) over Jacksonville Jaguars WIN

Kansas City Chiefs (-6.5) over Oakland Raiders LOSS

St. Louis Rams (-3.5) over San Francisco 49ers LOSS

Final '15 Regular Season Best Bets: 11-6, Overall: 26-23-2
