Smitter's Week Seven Predictions

October 19, 2006 by Steel Smitter

Smitters Week 1 Picks:

Smitters Week 7Picks:

Last week: 9-4 Overall: 35-5240.2%

FLGs last week:1-2 Overall 6-1233.3%

Well, not a good week to start betting against all of my picks! But, my FLGs are still stinking, even last year when I was under 50% overall, my FLGs made me money. Home team underdogs were 5-1 last week, and are now 21-10 for the year, 67.7%. Except for Week 1, the home dogs have had a winning record every week. Now that midget football is over and I have some free time, at least until basketball season starts, I plan on going back a few years and look at the records of home dogs. This week, 7 of the 13 games have home dogs, we will see if the trend continues.

Pittsburgh (- 2 ) over Atlanta So much for me picking all the home dogs! I think the Steelers can jump out to an early lead and force Vick to beat us with his arm, and we all know that wont happen.

Kansas City (+ 5 ) over San Diego KC has a tough match-up after their embarrassing performance last week. San Diego is bound for a minor letdown after two big wins. KC keeps this close, may even pull out the victory.

Jacksonville (- 9 ) over Houston This is the second home dog I am going against. (There is one more to come.) Jax is just too tough for the Texans.

Buffalo (+ 5 ) over New England While I dont think the competition is strong enough in the AFC East for anyone to challenge the Pats for the division, I feel they have slipped enough to lose games like this.

Miami (- 4 ) over Green Bay Pity the poor folks who have to watch this game, and this probably isnt the worst match-up of the week. Dolphins win solely because they are playing at home.

Tampa Bay (+ 5 ) over Philadelphia Tampa rides the momentum of last weeks last second win and takes Philly to the wire.

NY Jets (- 3 ) over Detroit Jets feel they are contenders in the division, and Detroit isnt going to put up much of a fight this week.

Carolina (+ 3 ) over Cincinnati Carolinas defense will feast on a not-so-mobile these days Carson Palmer. After shredding the vaulted Baltimore defense last week, Delhomme and company are salivating this week.

Cleveland (+ 4 ) over Denver No other reason than Cleveland is a home dog and coming off a bye week.

Indianapolis (- 9 ) over Washington When I first saw Indy by only 9 , I thought the game was at Washington. This just doesnt seem like a lot of points playing indoors.

Minnesota (+ 6 ) over Seattle Minnesota needs a win to keep pace for the wildcard, in which early indications are that it might take 10 wins to nab a wild-card berth in the NFC. Seattle, even playing at home, will lose in a high-scoring game.

Oakland (+ 3 ) over Arizona Who would have thought that the Green Bay-Miami game wouldnt be the Stinker of the Week. After Arizonas meltdown, Oakland may have their best chance for a win all year.

Dallas (- 3 ) over NY Giants With a national TV audience for this one, TO may score another two or three touchdowns.
