Smitter's Week 15 Picks

December 14, 2006 by Steel Smitter

Smitters Week 15  Picks:

Last week: 11-5    Overall: 99-109  47.6%

FLGs last week:  3-0   Overall  19-23  45.2%

Home dogs were 3-3 last week, and are now 47-24, 66.2%, for the year. Home favorites are now 62-75, 45.3%, on the year.

Seattle (- 9 ) over San Francisco Away teams are now 1-5 on Thursday nights, so going with the home team here, even though the Seahawks werent too impressive last week in their loss to Arizona.

Atlanta (+ 3 ) over Dallas Atlanta is the home dog. Dallas looked like crap against the Saints last week, after all the talk, including here, of how the Cowboys were beginning to look like a Super Bowl contender.

Pittsburgh (+ 3 ) over Carolina Steelers quest for .500 continues, as well as the outside shot of the playoffs. While Peppers may get a few sacks, Ben will light up the depleted Carolina secondary.

Minnesota (- 3 ) over NY Jets Both teams in need of win for continued hope of playoffs. Minnesota beat a woeful Lions team last week, while the Jets didnt even show up in their blowout loss to the Bills.

Cleveland (+ 11 ) over Baltimore Cleveland has the extra rest, but not sure what that is worth when you suck! I believe they keep it close this week against the old Browns.

Houston (+ 11 ) over New England I thought Houston would be playing better at this point of the year than they are. New England looked pitiful last week, and I look for them to rebound at home, but wont cover.

Buffalo (- 1 ) over Miami Normally, Miami playing at Buffalo in the middle of December would spell disaster for the warm-weather Dolphins. But, temps are going to be in the high-40s or low-50s Sunday in Buffalo. Still, it wont help the Dolphins.

New Orleans (- 9 ) over Washington Lots of points, but New Orleans looks like they have a team that can contend for the NFC Super Bowl slot.

Tennessee (+ 3 ) over Jacksonville Vince Young is playing well, Tennessee is a home dog, and we need them to win. Go Vince!

Chicago (- 13 ) over Tampa Bay This is the game that Grossman looks like he did earlier in the year.

Philadelphia (+ 5 ) over NY Giants The winner has inside track for a wildcard spot. Plaxico says no one on the Eagles can cover him. But, can Eli get him the ball? Heres saying he cant, at least not enough to make a difference.

Green Bay (- 5 ) over Detroit With the first pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, the Detroit Lions select is words we could be hearing in April.

Arizona (+ 2 ) over Denver See Tenn-Jax game above, but insert Matt Leinart for Vince Young. That, and Jay Cutler doesnt seem to have it..yet.

San Diego (- 9 ) over Kansas City LT gets three more TDs, to win the battle of premier AFC running backs. Chargers have got to be the class of the NFL right now.

Oakland (- 2 ) over St Louis Wait, the Raiders are favored? Oh, well, seems like a winner to me!

Indianapolis (- 3 ) over Cincinnati Colts cant be as bad as they looked last week. I look for them to rebound on Monday night, although Rudi Johnson may gain 200 yards on them.

FLGs

Cleveland over Baltimore

Buffalo over Miami

Tennessee over Jacksonville
