I only have some brief comments.

1. The amount of pressure coming up the middle is pretty damn absurd. Simmons in particular has numbers I would expect from a mediocre-to-bad OT. If anyone still doubts locking him up was a huge mistake, I hope this finally convinces them. This guy is becoming the most embarrassing Steeler in years. The coaches need to answer for his continued play. Colbert needs to answer for that contract.

2. Willie Colon has been impressive at RT. Neither sack I have credited to him against Seattle may go on him. He has struggled most with inside rushes and simply identifying who to pick-up at times. He does a fantastic job with outside rushes. The Steelers are currently 6th in the league running off right tackle and 1st running off the right end according to Football Outsiders. The Steelers were 31st and 16th last season in both categories with Max Starks as starter.

3. Way too much pressure up the middle in general. Faneca and Mahan arent being dominated on a weekly basis (though Simmons has been), but there are a few breakdowns in every game. Fixing this OL starts with the interior, not at the tackles. Marvel is here for another year, though, unfortunately. Its doubtful they pay him again. The line may get better in pass pro without Alan Faneca.

4. Roethlisberger is truly impressive at making this line look better. I cant say that many of these plays were coverage hurries or sacks. I would imagine its a relatively small percentage. Probably not more than a fifth of all the plays (maybe not even). Ill happily email anyone my descriptions of the plays so they have a reference if they want to check anything Ive written here. You can contact me directly at CKStillers@stillers.com to get the information. Its just too lengthy to post here.
