Smitter's Week Four Predictions

September 28, 2006 by Steel Smitter

Smitters Week 4  Picks:

Last week: 4-10   Overall: 15-31  32.6%

FLGs last week:  2-1   Overall 4-5  44.4%

Home underdogs are now 9-8 for the year, home favorites went 1-7 last week, on the year home favorites are 10-19.

NY Jets (+ 9 ) over Indianapolis The Jets are a big home underdog. Normally, I would think the Colts would run wild over the J-E-T-S, but this week I think the Jets keep it close.

San Diego (- 2 ) over Baltimore Im still not sold on the Ravens, but hopefully this week the Ravens put a hurting physically on the Chargers and lose by more than a field goal.

Minnesota ( + 1 ) over Buffalo The Vikings will rebound from their loss last week. Buffalo still disappointed from last weeks game that they should have won.

Tennessee (+ 9 ) over Dallas Another big home underdog. Tennessee will keep it close due to the TO circus surrounding the Cowboys.

San Francisco (+ 7 ) over Kansas City The 49ers are a little better than I thought they would be. Even with Trent Green, the Chiefs arent as good as many thought they would be.

Carolina (- 7 ) over New Orleans The Saints suffer a letdown from their triumphant return to New Orleans last week. Carolina looks to rebound to 2-2 in what seems like a more competitive division then previously thought.

Arizona (+ 7 ) over Atlanta Warner or Leinart? Its Curt Warner this week, which should be good enough against the Falcons.

Miami (- 3 ) over Houston Miami goes into Houston in a game they have to win if they want to keep any of their post-season aspirations. Texans wont roll over, but Miami wins by a TD or so.

St Louis (- 5 ) over Detroit The Rams return home and will put up a lot of points and win going away.

New England (+ 6 ) over Cincinnati The Patriots will rebound from their loss to Denver, while the Bengals suffer a post-Steelers game letdown.

Washington (+ 3 ) over Jacksonville Washington has to hope that the win over the Texans last week was a sign of their season turning around. Or, maybe it was just a win over the lowly Texans. The game is at home, and in a low scoring game, Washington comes out on top.

Oakland (+ 3 ) over Cleveland Imagine the poor people that get stuck having to watch this game to get their NFL fix this weekend. In a game matching two of my most-hated teams, the Raiders win 4-2.

Chicago ( - 3 ) over Seattle Early season bragging rights in the NFC are on the line in this one. The loss of Shaun Alexander hurts the Seahawks, and the Bears put up enough offense to win this one.

Green Bay (+ 11 ) over Philadelphia Brett Favre has one more good game in him on a national stage.

FLGs

Minnesota over Buffalo

San Francisco over Kansas City
