.1.San Diego Chargers13-2Came out on top in Seattle against their former divisional foe even though Tomlinson didn't get into the endzone.
.2.Baltimore Ravens12-3A win in the final week (or a Colts loss) guarantees them a bye. A nice bounce back from last season's 6 wins.
.3.Chicago Bears13-2Griese's fourth quarter performance in Detroit in relief of an ineffective Grossman adds some uncertainty.
.5.New England Patriots11-4Refuse to go away quietly.
.6.New Orleans Saints10-5Clinched a first round playoff bye for the first time in franchise history.
.4.Indianapolis Colts11-4Probably lost a playoff bye after giving up 154 yards on the ground to Dayne of all people. Manning gives them a punchers chance against anyone. No way though that this defense can hold up for 4 straight games to make a Super Bowl run.
.9.Philadelphia Eagles9-6Surprising 3 game road winning streak against divisional opponents has them in position for a home playoff game.
.10.Denver Broncos9-6Switch to Cutler now looks like a stroke of genius by Shanahan.
.11.Tennessee Titans8-7Fisher must be haunted by his descision to start Collins during the 0-5 start. Might be the favorite right now if they were in the NFC.
.13.New York Jets9-6A win at home against the Raiders gets them in the playoffs. Nice job by Mangini.
.7.Dallas Cowboys9-6Romo has come back to earth.
.8.Cincinnati Bengals8-7Bad snap on an extra point in the final minute cost them a chance at overtime and more than likely a playoff spot.
.12.Jacksonville Jaguars8-7Not the same team the last 2 weeks after their big victory over the Colts.
.19.Kansas City Chiefs8-7Offense simply places too much of a burden on LJ.
.21.Green Bay Packers7-8First year coach McCarthy gets overlooked because of the success of Payton and Mangini. He has his team in position for the playoffs with a win depending on how the strength of victory tiebreaker comes out with the Giants. A nice accomplishment given the low expectations.
.14.Pittsburgh Steelers7-8Turn out the lights, the party's over.
.15.Buffalo Bills7-8Losman's development gives them hope for the future.
.16.Seattle Seahawks8-7Backed into the playoffs by losing their third straight and clinching the NFC West.
.22.St. Louis Rams7-8Alive thanks in large part to the continuing collapse of their competition. Gotta love the NFC.
.25.Carolina Panthers7-8Weinke got his second career win as a starter after 17 straight losses by handing off 51 times and throwing only 7 passes.
.17.New York Giants7-8Currently win the tie breakers for the last NFC wildcard even though they have lost 6 of their last 7. The strength of victory tiebreaker with the Packers could still change. Plus they have to beat the Redskins in the finale. That is no sure thing considering the way things have been going.
.18.Atlanta Falcons7-8Vick became the first quarterback to top 1000 yards rushing and may have killed Mora Jr. in the process.
.20.Miami Dolphins6-9The Saban to Alabama rumors refuse to go away despite repeated denials.
.27.Arizona Cardinals5-10Green's players may have saved his job with their performance in the last month or so.
.23.San Fransisco 49ers6-9Loss to the Cardinals ended their longshot playoff hopes.
.24.Minnesota Vikings6-9Jackson was not ready.
.29.Houston Texans5-10Running game got healthy against the struggling Colts.
.26.Washington Redskins5-10Have to be bitterly disappointed after last year's playoff run. Ruining the Giants' season on Saturday night would help ease the pain.
.30.Tampa Bay Buccaneers4-11Proved they are better than the Browns on Sunday. That of course is feint praise.
.28.Cleveland Browns4-11Treading water under Savage and Crennel.
.31.Oakland Raiders2-13Pissing match between NFL network's Schefter and Davis over the job security of Shell was a humorous diversion. A major talent infusion is needed on the offensive side of the ball whether Shell returns or not.
.32.Detriot Lions2-13Close but no cigar against the Bears. Losing helps them more at this point than winning anyway.
