Smitter's Week Six Predictions

October 12, 2006 by Steel Smitter

Smitters Week 1 Picks:

Smitters Week 6Picks:

Last week: 5-9 Overall: 26-4835.1%

FLGs last week:1-2 Overall 5-1033.3%

Im in the same early season slump as the Stillers. I hope everyone has been making some money picking against whomever I have been picking. Another good week for the home teams home favorites were 9-3 for the week, and home dogs were 2-0 against the spread, bringing home dogs record for the year up to 16-9.

Tampa Bay (+ 5 ) over Cincinnati Going with the home dog in this one. Bruce Gradowski has his first game under his belt, and with the home crowd behind him, sparks the Bucs to their first win of the year.

Tennessee (+ 10 ) over Washington Vince Young wins his first NFL game, well, he keeps it close enough. This seems like an awful lot of points for a Washington team that hasnt really looked impressive most of the year.

Houston (+ 13 ) over Dallas David Carr leads the AFC in passer rating. Just goes to show you what a basically useless stat that is. Calls for Tony Romo increase as Bledsoe finds a few dark jerseys to throw the ball to.

Buffalo (- 1 ) over Detroit Going against the home dog in this one. Ugly game that the Bills win.

St Louis (+ 3 ) over Seattle No Shaun Alexander, the game is indoors, and another home underdog all lead to a Rams win.

NY Giants (+ 3 ) over Atlanta Big game for the Giants offense even if Shockley isnt playing.

Philadelphia (- 3 ) over New Orleans Sure, the Saints are 4-1, and Reggie Bush is electrifying, but arent you just waiting for the Saints to realize they arent this good?

Carolina (+ 3 ) over Baltimore Before I looked at this pointspread, I thought that Carolina would be favored, even with the game in Baltimore. The Great Steve McNair throws another few picks and that hissing sound coming from Chesapeake Bay is the Ravens bubble starting to burst.

Pittsburgh (- 6 ) over Kansas City Chad Brown has a pick, and Ben doesnt throw any picks, and the Stiller faithful breathe a little easier for a week.

NY Jets (- 2 ) over Miami I guess the experts chic pick of the Dolphins playing the Super Bowl at home is out the window. Even though the Jets got shutout last week, they rebound against the Dolphins.

San Francisco (+ 10 ) over San Diego So far this year, the Dolphins, Jags, and Bengals ALL LOST the week after playing the Steelers, with only Jacksonville being competitive in their game (the 7-point loss to Indy). So, that fact, combined with the 49ers getting 10 points at home, points to the 49ers taking the victory.

Oakland (+ 15 ) over Denver Too many points for Denver to be giving up in this rivalry game, even if the Raiders suck.

Arizona (+ 10 ) over Chicago While Chicago may be the best team in the NFL now, this game is Matt Leinarts national debut, and even without Larry Fitzgerald, the Cardinals will score enough points to win.
