Okobi Wins Weekly Hard
Hat Award (Game #7, @ Balt.)
Stiller center Chukky Okobi is the winner of
our weekly Hard Hat Award, given to the Stiller player who best embodies
the iron-tough, hard-as-steel attitude of the steel workers inside the blast
furnace of a still mill.
Making his first ever NFL start, Okobi responded
with a solid effort in helping the Stiller offense rumble over the Ravens. Okobi helped clear the way for the ground
game, and also helped protect the Stiller QB.
He was also instrumental in helping pave the way for Amoz' short TD
plunge. And, although centers rarely
get flagged for transgressions, Okobi nevertheless made it through the entire
contest without being flagged. On top
of that, Okobi didn't have any problems with exchanges on snaps, which is a
critical task for a young center. All
in all, Okobi held his own and fared quite well in his first NFL start. Okobi's solid play should, in fact, give
Coach Cowher the impetus to use Okobi as the team's top backup guard,
rather than Oliver Ross.
Kudos to Chukky for winning the weekly Hard
Hat Award. Wear the Hard Hat
proudly, Chukky !!
