.1.New England Patriots11-0Didn't come close to covering the spread, but proved they could do what needs to be done in a close game.
.2.Dallas Cowboys10-1Led the Patriots in the second half for a short stretch and have beaten everybody else. That's a pretty good resume.
.3.Green Bay Packers10-1Tomorrow night's game against the Cowboys in Dallas is likely to decide home field in the NFC. Too bad hardly anyone including me will be able to watch it on the NFL Network.
.4.Indianapolis Colts9-2Need to beat the visiting Jaguars to keep control of the AFC South.
.5.Jacksonville Jaguars8-3Garrard hasn't thrown an interception in his last 209 pass attempts. Jinx.
.7.Pittsburgh Steelers8-3Field was an embarrasment on Monday night. What shape will it be in this coming Sunday night?
.8.Cleveland Browns7-4Already scored 77 more points than all of last season.
.10.Seattle Seahawks7-4Rallied to score 17 unanswered second half points and take a 2 game lead in the division.
.11.Tampa Bay Buccaneers7-4Praying that Garcia's back improves. The alternative is Gradkowski or McCown.
.6.New York Giants7-4Was Eli adopted?
.14.San Diego Chargers6-5Even Norv can out coach Billick.
.9.Tennessee Titans6-5VY and White have fallen on hard times.
.20.Chicago Bears5-6Kept their season alive when good Rex suddenly showed up to lead them to 17 unanswered points in just over 8 minutes.
.12.Denver Broncos5-6Memo to Sauerbrun. Kicking or punting to Hester in the middle of the field is really, really stupid.
.21.New Orleans Saints5-6Saved their season in Carolina. Can legitimately get back in the playoff race with Tampa Bay coming to town.
.15.Detriot Lions6-5Euphoria over the 6-2 start has been forgotten in the midst of a 3 game losing streak.
.16.Philadelphia Eagles5-6Won a moral victory in Foxboro which of course means next to nothing.
.13.Arizona Cardinals5-6Suffered as tough a loss as imaginable. Got a delay of game penalty on a 27 yard field goal attempt in overtime that was good. Rackers missed the subsequest 32 yarder. Then Warner took a sack and fumbled away the game -- maybe the season -- in his own endzone.
.25.Minnesota Vikings5-6Returning 3 interceptions for touchdowns tends to give a team a lift.
.17.Buffalo Bills5-6Edwards returns at QB to try to halt the 2 game losing streak.
.18.Houston Texans5-6Have committed a league high 29 turnovers.
.19.Washington Redskins5-6Condolences to the Taylor family and the Redskins organization. Tough to concentrate on football when something like this happens.
.28.Cincinnati Bengals4-7Call me crazy, but I actually got a kick out of Ocho Cinco supplanting the endzone cameraman as part of his first touchdown celebration of a 3 touchdown day.
.22.Baltimore Ravens4-7Mired in a 5 game losing streak with the Patriots and Colts next on the schedule. Looks like the Billick era will be coming to an end.
.23.Carolina Panthers4-7Still looking for their first home win of the season.
.30.San Fransisco 49ers3-8Snapped an 8 game losing streak in overtime.
.31.Oakland Raiders3-8Victory over the Chiefs was their first against an AFC West opponent since late November of 2004 in Denver.
.24.Kansas City Chiefs4-7Once vaunted home field advantage in Arrowhead Stadium is gone.
.27.New York Jets2-9Last week's post bye uprising appears to have been an aberation.
.26.St. Louis Rams2-9Fate seeled when Frerotte subbing for an injured Bulger on the final series missed a wide open Bruce in the endzone on first down and fumbled the snap on fourth down both inside the opponent's 5 yard line.
.29.Atlanta Falcons3-8Would Petrino consider quitting after a single season to return to college?
.32.Miami Dolphins0-11First team to go 0-11 since the Lions started out 0-12 in '01.
