Best Bet (plus two)

My best bet continued to be the kiss of death as the Eagles fell deeper into the abyss. If I'm going to take a team down I should probably focus on the Ravens. Oh well. My other bets actually came through for a change. Tim Tebow came up a point short of covering after replacing a completely ineffective Kyle Orton. The city over Denver seemingly as one all reacted in delight that John Fox finally put Orton on the bench. Them coming up short was to my delight. The Bengals continued their strong play getting over .500 against the scuffling Jaguars.

I am going to change my tack this week and go for all home favorites. Wish me luck.

Best Bet

New York Jets (-7.0) over Miami Dolphins

To me this sets up similarly to the Steelers matchup last week against the Titans except the Dolphins are in no way as good as Tennessee. Of course the Jets may not be as good as the Steelers. Mark Sanchez is clearly not as good as Ben Roethlisberger. But this is a team that went to the AFC Championship game the last two seasons and had legitimate Super Bowl aspirations heading into the year. This seems like the perfect spot for them to emphatically end their three game losing streak.

Cincinnati Bengals (-7.0) over Indianapolis Colts

Somehow I find myself on the Bengals bandwagon picking them for a second straight week. Oh, the humanity.

Oakland Raiders (-6.0) over Cleveland Browns

Did Al Davis put together one last solid football team? Something he hadn't done since 2002. Darren McFadden is unstoppable. Richard Seymour is playing up to his capabilities. Jason Campbell is adequate. Even busts like Darius Heyward Bay and Michael Huff actually seem to be coming around. This seems like a tough spot for the still developing Browns. The Peyton Hillis controversy doesn't help.
