From time to time Ill toss up a book review after reading an interesting book about the Black and Gold.Since Ive been pretty busy as of late and read far too much at work, I came across a DVD collection that I would highly recommend to any Stiller fan.

This year, NFL Films and Warner Brothers, produced a series of NFL team DVDs.The one I obviously purchased was Steelers, The Complete History.

This two disk DVD is a documentary starting from when Rooney bought the Pirates in 1933 (for $2,500) to Big Bens inaugural season as a Steeler. The coverage and quality is excellent.

Youll see clips from the beginning to recent and the volumes of history in between. As a trivia buff, this was a great purchase and I got to watch it, not read it. (Nothing against reading Dr. Hesske)

This is the best collection of video that I have seen in many years. Some chapters include:

  • Rooneys Dream
  • Bullet Bill & Dr. Dick
  • Steel Town Tough
  • Buddys (Buddy Parker)
  • Same Old Steelers (especially for Nick 79)
  • New Coach, New Home:Opening of Three Rivers
  • The Immaculate Season
  • For the Chief (First Super Bowl Win)
  • City of Champions
  • The Best Defense Ever
  • Team of the Decade
  • Chucks Last Hurrah
  • Cowher Power
  • Bus n Slash
  • 21st Century Football
  • A Town, a Team, a Family.

Bonus features include:

  • Super Bowl XIII
  • Bill Cowher
  • Jerome Bettis
  • Bradshaw
  • Francos Italian Army
  • Rocky Bleiers Vietnam experience
  • Myron
  • Dick Hoak
  • Bill Saul, NFL Films 1st ever sound wiring

The two DVD set can be purchased through many outlets.www.steelers.com is selling it for $26.95: http://www.steelers.com/catalog/product/55274/

Ive seen it cheaper at www.amazon.com for $20.21 and they have some cheaper ones that are used http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0009NSCSU/qid=1127964100/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/104-0957644-5655124?v=glance&s=dvd

Whatever the price, if you can get your hands on this collection, Im confident youll be pleased.Your wife or girlfriend may not, but such is life.It is a superb highlight set of the Black and Gold.

Amazon.com gives this DVD collection 4 Stars.Ill agree with their assessment. It is a great gift for a fellow fan or for you.A must watch for any true Stiller Fan.
