Hard
Hat Award (Game #4, @ San Diego)
Stiller SS Troy Polamalu is the winner of the weekly Hard
Hat Award, given to the Stiller player who best embodies the iron-tough,
hard-as-steel attitude of the steel workers inside the blast furnace of a still
mill.
Pola had a hardnosed effort on Monday night, making plays
all over the field. He helped stuff the
run and helped contain the pass. What
really caught The Committee's eye was his strong-willed battle against big TE
Antonio Gates, whom Pola tussled with all evening long. Giving up 6 inches and 40 pounds, Pola never
backed down even an inch from Gates, and gave the big Pro Bowl TE all he could
handle. As if smothering Gates wasn't
enough, Pola put a crushing, decleating block on Gates on the Harrison INT
return, even knocking off Gates' helmet in the process. That, ladies and gentlemen, is what Hard Hat
football is all about.

Kudos to Pola for winning the weekly Hard Hat Award. Wear the Hard Hat proudly, Troy!
