Best Bet (plus two)

September 07, 2016 by Steel Haven

Had a solid year of best bets in '15 for the first time in recent memory. Chance to be over .500 in the playoffs ruined by being completely wrong about the outcome of the Super Bowl.

First week is always brutal. I had trouble finding one game I felt remotely confident about picking. Ended up taking all favorites.

Best Bet

Houston Texans (-6.5) over Chicago Bears

The Texans added a ton of offensive skill position talent to a roster that won 9 games and their division thanks to dominating defense. The Bears improved the defensive front seven, but the secondary and offense as a whole seem worse. In the end it still comes down to Jay Cutler. Not a good thing. This seems like a bad matchup for the Bears.

Others

Kansas City Chiefs (-7) over San Diego Chargers

Andy Reid knows how to win regular season games. I can't think of anything good to say about the Chargers.

Green Bay Packers (-5.5) over Jacksonville Jaguars

Not yet ready to jump on the Jaguars bandwagon.

Super Bowl 50

Carolina Panthers (-6) over Denver Broncos LOSS

Final '15 Regular Season Best Bets: 11-6, Overall Regular Season: 26-23-2, Playoffs: 5-6
