Hard Hat Award (Game #15, @ Clev)

Stiller DE and special teamer Brett Keisel and backup LB and special teamer James Harrison are the co-winners of the weekly Hard Hat Award, given to the Stiller player who best embodies the iron-tough, hard-as-steel attitude of the steel workers inside the blast furnace of a still mill.

In his fourth season out of BYU, the Stormin' Mormon had perhaps his best game as a pro.Keisel got considerable PT at DE, and made the most of it with tireless effort in which his motor never stopped. He finished with 4 solos and 1 assist, including 2 sacks. On his first sack, Keisel blew in and stripped Frye of the ball, although Clev recovered. On his 2nd sack, which occurred in the 4Q, Keisel showed a great burst ability by surging between 2 blockers and dropping Frying Pan on a 4th down play.Lest we forget, Keisel threw a crushing, de-cleating block on Randle El's long punt return in the 1Q.El ended up fumbling at the end of this long return, but had he not, more attention would have been paid to this superb block by Keisel.

Harrison had a strong effort in the blowout over Clev.Jamie registered 5 solos, including a stop on punt coverage in the 2Q.Perhaps more importantly, he partially blocked a punt in the 2Q, the first Stiller blocked punt since perhaps the days of the Nixon administration. Then, late in the game, a drunken Browns fan ran onto the field, and then headed over toward to the Stillers' sideline in a taunting manner. Not one to put up with tomfoolery, Jamie Harrison took matters into his own hands and body-slammed the unruly fan into the turf. This was fair and just, and Harrison should be lauded for handling an unruly fan -- in particular, an unruly Cleveland fan -- in this manner.Rest assured, all Cleveland fans will think twice before stumbling in a taunting manner toward a gang of Stillers or Stiller fans, because they know they', too, will have their ass slammed into the ground!

Kudos to Keisel and Harrison for winning the weekly Hard Hat Award.Wear the Hard Hat proudly, fellas!

(Note: Stillers.com will pay tribute to Steve Courson this season by placing "77" in the Hard Hat Award article each week.Courson, as most of you certainly recall, was the ultimate Hard Hat kind of player.Tough, dependable, and versatile. Stillers.com will also pay tribute to Army Sergeant First Class Brent Adams, a longtime Stillers fan and Pittsburgh native who paid the ultimate sacrifice for his country while serving on point for the nation in Iraq.SFC Adams died on duty in Iraq on Dec. 1st, 2005, and his obituary can be read at this link.Brent represents the values of the Hard Hat, and as such, Stillers.com will place a "B.A." in the Hard Hat article the rest of the season in tribute to this great American.)
