Smitter's Week Three Predictions

September 21, 2006 by Steel Smitter

Smitters Week 1 Picks:

Smitters Week 3 Picks:

Last week: 7-9 Overall: 11-2134.4%

FLGs last week:1-2 Overall 2-4 33.3%

The participants in last seasons Conference Championship games are 2-6 so far against the spread. But, Im picking three of the four teams this week.

Pittsburgh (- 2 ) over Cincinnati We got Bens rusty performance out of the way. Look out Ben-gals. I think Palmer will be seeing a lot of Big Casey this Sunday, which is going to enable the Stiller LBs to run amok. This one isnt going to be close. At least one Ben-gal gets carted off the field.

Buffalo (- 5 ) over NY Jets Lets see, Buffalo lost to the Pats by a safety, Jets lost to the Pats by 7, a 5-point difference. Add in a few for home field, and the Bills improve to 2-1 by a TD or so.

Indianapolis (- 7 ) over Jacksonville The Jags usually play the Colts tough, even in the dome. I just dont think the Jaguars defense can play as well as they need to in this game. Not even close this time.

Miami (- 11 ) over TennesseeAhhh, the game to cure what ails the Dolphins. At least for this week.

Houston (+ 4 ) over Washington Just a hunch, but Houston gets their first win of the season this week. Randle El stat line 2 PR for 11 yards, 1 reception for 6 yards.

Minnesota (+ 3 ) over Chicago The Bears have looked pretty impressive, especially on offense. The home crowd spurs the Vikings to the NFC North lead.

Carolina (- 3 ) over Tampa Bay The loser is in serious trouble in the NFC South. Carolina finally gets in the win column.

Detroit (- 6 ) over Green Bay Detroit is coming off a serious loss but looked decent against Seattle. Green Bay looked like they might win a game last week, but let the Saints beat them at home. Detroit continues the calls for Favres benching and/or retirement.

Cleveland (+ 6 ) over Baltimore Looks like a mismatch a Browns offense that has looked pathetic so far this year, against a Ravens defense who has only allowed 6 points in two weeks. But, in a surprise, the Brownies will score enough to keep this one close.

Arizona (- 4 ) over St Louis An Arizona loss in this one could lead to the typical 4-12 Cardinals season. In a game the Cards need to win, they defeat the Rams.

Seattle (- 3 ) over NY Giants Can the Giants sustain the momentum they got last week in their OT win against the Eagles? Seattle improved last week from their close win against the Lions in Week One. Flight across the country doesnt do much good for the Giants this week.

San Francisco (+ 6 ) over Philadelphia Alex Smith has actually looked like an NFL QB this year. Another cross country trip for an NFC East team, another loss, well, maybe not a loss, but San Fran keeps it close.

New England (- 7 ) over Denver Denver has not looked good yet. New England just keeps rolling along. The Pats win this by at least 10.

New Orleans (+ 3 ) over Atlanta The first game back in New Orleans. Emotions will run high, not only in New Orleans, but all over the country. U2 is performing pre-game. Saints win this and jump to a surprising 3-0 start.
