RnkLWTeamRecordComments
.1.San Diego Chargers9-2LT got into the endzone 2 more times and threw his sixth career touchdown pass for good measure.
.3.Indianapolis Colts10-1Addai is proving to be a more than adequate replacement for James.
.4.Baltimore Ravens9-2Deserve more respect than I have been giving them.
.6.New England Patriots8-3Turned the ball over 5 times against the vaunted Bears defense and managed to win anyway thanks in large part to Grossman's ineptitude. Turnovers will be a much bigger issue against tougher AFC competition in the playoffs.
.2.Chicago Bears9-2Lucky to be in the worst division of the worst conference.
.7.Dallas Cowboys7-4Romo is on fire. His 5 touchdown passes on Thanksgiving tied Aikman's single game team record.
.9.Seattle Seahawks7-4Holmgren joins Shula as the only 2 coaches to have won 70 or more games with 2 different franchises.
.12.New Orleans Saints7-4Brees threw for 349 yards. His fifth straight 300 yard game. In that stretch he has a total of 1954 passing yards and 11 touchdowns. Brees would have a legitimate case for MVP if it wasn't for LT.
.13.Kansas City Chiefs7-4LJ carried them again in an important divisional win over the fading Broncos.
.5.Denver Broncos7-4Cutler gets an opportunity to provide a spark after a second straight loss. Turning to a raw rookie in the midst of a playoff race is an act of desperation even if it is hard to envision Cutler playing as poorly as Plummer.
.14.Cincinnati Bengals6-5Seem to have righted the ship. Getting into the playoffs will still not be easy.
.8.Carolina Panthers6-5Maddeningly inconsistent. Have hope because they are in the NFC.
.15.New York Jets6-5Possess the easiest remaining schedule of the teams vying for the AFC wildcards.
.10.Jacksonville Jaguars6-5Letdown in Buffalo dealt their fading playoff hopes a severe blow.
.18.Miami Dolphins5-6Winning streak at 4 games after Harrington's successful return to Detroit on Thanksgiving.
.11.New York Giants6-5Became only the third team ever to blow a 21 point lead in the final 10 minutes of a game. Problems started when Burress gave up on a deep pass that was intecepted by Pacman. Burress made a rather lame attempt to tackle Jones at the beginning of the 26 yard runback. Then Walker was called on a late hit of Young out of bounds after a 7 yard gain on 4th and 9. Titans score. 21-7. Subsequent punt is returned 23 yards by Jones. Titans score in 6 plays. 21-14. Next punt gives the Titans the ball at their 24 with just under 3 minutes remaining. After 3 incompletions Kiwanuka has Young in his grasp but literally quits on the play. Young scrambles 19 yards for a first down. Kiwanuka apparently thought Young had thrown the ball and did not want to get a roughing penalty. Game is tied at 21 only 4 plays later. Manning then under pressure throws a horrible pick to Jones at mid-field with 32 seconds remaining. Bironas kicks a 49 yard field goal 3 plays later. Game over. Collapse complete.
.21.Buffalo Bills5-6Losman is starting to come around.
.23.Tennessee Titans4-7Young flashed the greatness that made him the first quarterback picked in the draft during a 24 point fourth quarter that erased a 21 point deficit against the reeling Giants.
.24.Minnesota Vikings5-6Offense finally showing some life. Of course it was against the Cardinals.
.25.St. Louis Rams5-6Ended their 5 game losing streak and immediately got back into the pathetic NFC playoff race.
.16.Atlanta Falcons5-6Rushed for 281 yards against the Saints and still lost. Mora Sr. was right when he called Vick a coach killer. Mora Jr. could be dead at the end of the season.
.17.Pittsburgh Steelers4-7Stick a fork in the defending Super Bowl Champions.... They're done. The debacle in Baltimore puts an end to any thought that they could put together a winning streak and sneak into the playoffs. A loss was understandable. The complete lack of effort by the supposedly prideful soon to be ex-Champions in a must win game was unfathomable. Cowher really does seem to have already retired. He should be embarrassed. So should everyone associated with the on the field performance.
.19.San Fransisco 49ers5-6Upcoming road games in New Orleans, Seattle and Denver make the playoffs a long shot at best.
.20.Philadelphia Eagles5-6Sunday night flex schedule didn't work out very well due to McNabb's injury.
.22.Green Bay Packers4-7Favre is only 10 touchdown passes behind Marino and 12 interceptions behind Blanda for their respective all-time records.
.29.Washington Redskins4-7Campbell remained calm despite not putting up big numbers and led an impressive comeback in Carolina. The question for the day. Why did Gibbs stick with Brunell for so long?
.26.Tampa Bay Buccaneers3-8Rumors are swirling that Gruden may not be back next season.
.27.Cleveland Browns3-8Frye threw 4 interceptions to help give the Bengals their first shoutout victory since 1989.
.28.Houston Texans3-8Lack of a running game continues to haunt them.
.30.Arizona Cardinals2-9Green's return to Minnesota was not triumphant. Hard to lose when scoring on a 99 yard kick return and a 99 yard fumble recovery. At least Leinart's 405 passing yards along with Fitzgerald's 172 receving yards and Boldin's 140 receiving yards gives them hope for the future.
.31.Oakland Raiders2-9Moss is seriously tarnishing his reputation with an obvious lack of effort.
.32.Detriot Lions2-9Could Marinelli be one and done? Few coaches get fired after their first season. Hard to believe though that Millen can survive this disaster. A new GM might want to hire his own coach.
